HomeMy WebLinkAbout863 - Santa Ana Avenue Imnprovement District - Intent to Make Changes',L 6 RESOLUTION N0. 863 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO MAKE CHANGES IN THE WORK PROPOSED TO BE DONE: STATING THE AMOUNT OF THE ESTIMATED INCREASE OR DECREASE IN THE COST OF THE WORK BY REASON OF SAID PROPOSED CHANGES: GIVING NOTICE OF A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID PROPOSED CHANGES IN CONNECTION WITH SANTA ANA IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT. (ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 8) WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa did, on the 6th day of September, 1960, adopt Resolution No. 777, ordering the work to be done pursuant to Resolution of Intention No. 761, adopted on the 18th day of July, 1960, for the grading, paving, and otherwise improving Santa Ana Avenue and certain other streets, alleys and easements in said City; and WHEREAS, pursuant to said Resolution No. 777 ordering said work, notice inviting sealed bids for the doing of said work was duly published in the manner provided by law; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California, did, on the 17th day of October, 1960, adopt Resolution No. 785, awarding the contract for said work described in Resolution of Intention No. 761 to Sully -Miller Contracting Company; and WHEREAS, the City Council of said City desired certain changes in the work proposed to be done, and did, on January 3, 1961, adopt Resolution No. 803 declaring its intention to make changes in the work proposed to be done; and WHEREAS, pursuant to said Resolution of Intention No. 803, City Council of said City did, on February 6, 1961, adopt Resolution No. 810 determining the results of the hearing on the Resolution of Intention to make changes and ordered said changes to be made; and WHEREAS, the City Council of said City proposes, subject to the written consent of said Sully -Miller Contracting Company, to order certain additional changes in the work proposed to be done, to -wit: J ADDITION - Easement Southeasterly of Santa Ana Avenue Bid Unit Item No. Item quantity Price Total 28. 48" Dia. The street grade to be changed from the grade shown None on original Sheet No. 35 of Plan No. 9, on file in the office of the City Engineer and the City Clerk of said City, to the street grade as shown on Amended Sheet No. 35 of said Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California, does hereby resolve and determine as follows: 1 SECTION 1. That the City Council proposes, subject to the written J consent of the Sully -Miller Contracting Company, to make the changes in the work proposed to be done as specifically above set forth. SECTION 2. That the amount of the estimated increase in the cost of the work by reason of said proposed changes is $7,534.96• SECTION 3• NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the 7th day of August, at . the hour of seven -thirty (7:30) o'clock p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Council in the Costa Mesa City Hall, located at 695 West 19th Street, in said City of Costa Mesa, is hereby set as the time and place when and where any interested persons having any objections to the changes proposed to be made may appear and show cause why said changes should not be made. J SECTION 4. The City Clerk of the City of Costa Meas, California, shall cause this Resolution to be published once at least ten (10) days prior to the date of the hearing as stated herein.
