IP FEAS, there is situated outside of and contiguous to the Cite of C-sta Mesa a certain uninhalited area as hereinafter rare particularly described; and WFEF .,AS, the owners of over one-fourth of the land and territory by area and !v assessed valT ation as shown on the last equalized assessrent roll of the County of Orange, have exrressed themselves as desgrous of having the same annexed with the Ci til of Costa Mesa; and ITERFAS, it wm ld be for the best interest of the City of Costa Mesa to annex the said hereinafter described property; and I.MER.TAS, there has been submitted, on or about the 30th day of March, 1959, to the Orange County Boundar7 Conmi.ssi on a legal description and plat of the said hereinafter described uninhabited area, for its approval, pursuant to Section 35002 of the Government Code of the State of California; and VErEEEAS, the approval of said Orange County Boundary Cormissi.on has been secured and reported upon by said Boundary Comni.ssion with respect to the definiteness and the certainty of the proposed boundaries; NOW., TTJiPEFORE, RE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Costa Fesa, a City of the Sixth Class, to annex the said real property as hereinafter described, which said real property is contiguous to the present bounCaries of the City of Costa Mesa, and w' ; ch proper. t7 is, at the present time, uninhabited. NOTTCE TS 7Fr07 GIVEN that it is proposed b.- the City of Costa Fesa to annex the Vereirafter described real property to the City of Costa Mesa, which said real property shall, ;n these proceedings, be known as Annexation No. 29 to the City of Costa Mesa, and bear the name: "Baker Street No. 5 Annexation." The specific desc- ription of the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed is as follows: Beginning at a point in the Northerly line of that certain 80 foot strap of land, known as Baker Street, conveyed to the Count? of Orange by deed recorded May 18, 1943, in Book 1193, page 42 of Official Records of Orange County, California, distant thereon 125.00 feet Easterly of the centerline of Harbor Boulevard (formerly Fairview Avenue), said point being in the existing bouncary of the City of Costa Mesa; thence North 880 51' 00" East, 681.08 feet along the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa and the Northerly line of Baker Street to the West line of College Street (formerly Banana Street), 60 feet wide; thence North 10 13' 00" West, Q3.85 feet along the West line of College Strcet to the Northeast corner of Lot 25 of Fairview Tract; thence departing from the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa, South 880 45' 50" West, 680.32 feet along tl-e Northerly line of Lots 25 and 26 to a point 125.00 feet distant from, measured at right angles, the centerline of Harbor Bo,,.levard; thence South 10 09' 00" East, 652.70 feet, parallel to the centerline of Harbor Roilevard to the point of beginning. FTFTFTER N-TICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that on the 18th day of May, 1459, at the hour of 7:30 otclock p.m., on said day, or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, at the Council meeting in the City Hall of the City of Costa Mesa, 695 West 19th Street, Costa Mesa, California, a hearing will be had, at which hearing the City Council shall hear and pass upon all written protests filed at any time before said hour set for said hearing by any person owning real property within the territory so proposed to be annexed, and at any time before said hour set for said hearing any owner of property within the territory proposed to be annexed may file a written protest against the annexation. The protest shall set forth the name of the owner of the property affected and give a description of the said property in general terms. The Cit- Clerk of the Cit -r of Costa Mesa is hereby directed and authorized to cause a copy of tb`s Resolution to be published once a week for two weeks prior to said hearing i n the GLOBE-TTERALD and PILOT, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa, and also in the NEWPORT HARBOR ENSIGN, a newspaper of {general circulation printed and published in the County of' Orange and outside the City of Costa 14esa. The City Clergy: is further authorized and directed to mail a notice of the proposed annexation to all persons to whom land proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last available equalized assessment roll, at the address shown thereon or as knov.,n to said City Clerk.
