HomeMy WebLinkAbout414 - Wade Annexation - Resolution of IntentionRESOLUTION N0. 414 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA OF INTENTION TO ANNEX, AND GIVING NOTICE THEREOF. WHEREAS, there is situated outside and contiguous to the City of Costa Mesa a certain uninhabited area as hereinafter more oarticularly described; and WHEREAS, the owners of over one-half of the land and the territory by area and by assessed valuation as shown on the last equalized assessment roll in the County of Orange have expressed themselves as desirous of having the same annexed with the City of Costa Mesa; and WB.EREAS, there has been submitted on or about the loth day of September, 1957, to the Orange County Boundary Commission a legal description and plat of the said hereinafter described uninhabited area, for its approval, pursuant to Section 35002 of the Government Code of the State of California; and WHEH_:AS, the approval of said Orange County Boundary Commission has been secured and reported upon by the Boundary Commission with respect to the definiteness and the certainty of tie proposed boundaries. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Ccs.to Mesa, a City of the Sixth Class, to annex the said real property as hereinafter described, which said real property is contiguous to the present boundaries of said City of Costa Mesa, and which property is, at the present time, uninhabited. NOTICY, IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is proposed by the said City of Costa Mesa to annex the hereinafter described real property to the City of Costa Mesa, which said real property shall, in these proceedings, bear the name "WADE AJVEXATION% The specific description of the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed is as follows: Beginning at a point in the existing, boundary of the City of Costa Mesa, said point being the intersection of the Southerly line of Baker Street, 90 feet in width, as described in the deed to the County of Orange, recorded March 27, 1943 in Book 1183, page 294 0£ Official Records, Oranee County, California, with the Easterly line of Bristol Street, 80 feet in width, as described in the deed to the County of Orange, recorded Decem- ber 27, 1949 in Book 1945, page 372 of Official Records of said Orange County; thence Easterly from said point of beginning along said Southerly line of Baker Street to the Easterly line of Lot 9, Block "E" of the Berry Tract, as shown on a map re- corded in Book 30, page 74 of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California, thence Southerly along the Easterly line of said Lot 91 215.00 feet; thence Westerly parallel with the Northerly line of Said Lot 9 to said Easterly line of Bristol Street; thence Northerly along said Easterly line of Bristol Street to the point of beginning. W9 FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY LIVEN, that on the 18th day of November, 1957, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m., on said day, or as soon tiereafter as the matter can be heard, at the Council meeting at the Costa Mesa City Hall, 695 West 19th Street, Costa Mesa, California, a hearing will be had, at which hearing the City Council shall hear and pass upon all written protests filed at any time before said owner of property within the territory proposed to be annexed may file a written protest against the annexation. The protest shall set forth the name of the owner of the property affected and give a description of said property in general terms. The City Clerk of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be published once a week for two weeks prior to said hearing in the Costa Mesa Globe -Herald, a newspaper of general circulation, published in tie City of Costa Mesa. The City Clerk is further autFiorized and directed to mail a written notice of the proposed annexation to all persons to whom land proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last available equalized assessment roll at the address shown thereon or as known to said City Clerk.
