HomeMy WebLinkAbout422 - E. 17th Street Improvement District - Severance DamagesRESOLUTION NO. 422 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF COSTA MESA, AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO DRAW CERTAIN WARRANTS FOR THE ACQJI_SITiON OF RIGHTS OF WAY IN THE EAST 17TH STREET IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California, did, on the 4th day of September, 1956, initiate proceedings for the formation of the "East 17th Street Improvement District and Certain Other Streets;" and WHEREAS, the acquisition of Rights of Way is a necessary step prior to the initiation of said East 17th Street Improvement District; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa finds and determines that it is for the best interests of said City that it acquire said easements; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the severance damages set forth below represent a reasonable and fair amount, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That the Director of Finance of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby authorized to draw warrants as follows for the payment of severance damages in connection with the acquisition of the following rights of way: 2. Schaefer Estate (Bertha Henderson) 17th St. 3,250.00 3. Regan Bros. property (John & Geo.) 17th St.) ) Mary G. McDowell property ) 6,500.00 4. Gerald A. & Marion Ernst property 16th Place 900.00 SECTION 2. That the City Attorney is authorized and instructed to open escrows for the acquisition of said rights of way and to pay the said severance damages, as aforesaid. _ SECTION 3. That the Director of Finance be, and he is hereby, instructed to charge said amounts against the Capital Improvement Fund and to add said approp- riations to the budget appropriations for this Fiscal Year, thereby increasing the budget by said amount.
