RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA
ORDERINE THE WORK DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NO. 441, ADOPTED ON THE 17TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1958, IN
THE MATTER OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS IN EAST
17TH STREET AND CERTAIN OTHER STREETS AND ALLEYS IN THE
CITY OF COSTA MESA.
The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, pursuant to the provisions
of the "Improvement Act of 1911," being Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code
of the .State of California, does hereby resolve as follows:
That the public interest and convenience require the work hereinafter
mentioned to be done, and therefore said City Council hereby orders the following
work to be done and improvements to be made in said City, to wit:
The grading, paving, construction of curbs and gutters, concrete cross
gutters, sanitary sewers, house connection sewers, manholes, water house connections,
installation of water mains and replacement of existing water mains, installation of
certain pipe, structures and appurtenances for drainage purposes, relocation of fire
hydrants, removal of certain obstructions together with appurtenances and appurtenant
work in connection therewith, in Fast 17th Street and certain other streets and alleys
in said City, all as more particularly described in Resolution of Intention No. h4l,
passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa on the 17th day of
February, 1958, and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City of Costa Mesa.
For further particulars, reference is hereby made to said Resolution of
Intention No. Lill, and to plans, profiles, and drawings for the construction of said
improvements, being Plan No. 7, consisting of fifty-one (51) sheets, and to the
specifications of the said work heretofore adopted by the said City Council and on
file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, ars] all of said plans, frofiles and
drawings and specificatinns heretofore approved by the City Council of the City of
Costa Mesa are incorporated herein and made a part hereof and reference is hereby made
thereto for a more particular description of said work.
Said City Council has detemined and declared the the contemplated work and
improvement hereinbefore mentioned was in the opinion of the City Council of more
than local or ordinary public benefit and the said City Council has mde the expenses
of the said work and improvement chargeable upon a district. For the particular
description of the said assessment district reference is hereby made to the said Res-
olution of Intention No. "I.
Said City Council has determined and declared that serial bonds bearing
interest at the rate of six percent (6%) per annum shall be issued to represent each
assessment of Fifty Dollars 050.00) or more, remaining unpaid for thirty (30) days
after the date of the warrant. Said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending
nine (9) years from the second day of January next succeeding the next October fit,
teenth following their date. The redemption provisions of said bonds shall require

the payment of a premium of five percent (52) of the unpaid prineipal'l shall be added
after the redemption clause in the bond form of the bonds issued.
All the work herein ordered shall be done and carried through in pursuance
of an act of the Legislature of the State of California designated the "Improvement
Act of 1911," being Parts 1, 2, 3, 6, 5, and 6 of Division 7 of said Streets and
Highways Code.
The City Clerk of the said City is hereby directed to post conspicuously
for ten (10) days on or near the Chamber door of the said City Council in the manner
and form required by said Code, a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing
1h a work ordered and the said City Clerk is hereby directed to publish twice in the
Costa Mesa Globe -Herald and Pilot, a tri -weekly newspaper printed, published and cir-
culated in said City, and hereby designated for that purposed by the City Council,
a notice inviting such proposals or bids for doing the said work and referring to
the specifications on file.

Council, City of Costa Mesa, California, held on the 17th day of March, 1958, the
foregoing Resolution No. 1:53, was considered and that said Resolution was then passed
and adopted as a whole by the following roll call vote, to wit:
