HomeMy WebLinkAbout565 - Wage Scale - Northwest Improvement District883 RESOLUTION N0, 565 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, ASCEPTATNTNG AND 1:hT12pTNING TVE PREVAILING RATE OF WARES TO, AB FATP FOR THE FOLLOWING PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT IN THE CITY OF COSTA MESA: IN WEST VICTORIA STREET AND CERTAIN OTHER STRI ETS, ALLEYS AND EAS114ENTS. WNFdPEA.S, the City Council of the Cit}, of Posta Mesa did, on the 2nd day of February, 1059, adopt Resolution of Intention No. 556 for the grading, paving, con- structio,. of curbs and gutters, concrete cross gutters, sanitary sewers, house conn- ectinn sewers, manholes, water house connections, installation of water mains and re- placement of exi.sti.nr water mains, installation of certain pipe, structures and app- urtenances for drainace purposes, relocation of fire hydrants, removal of certain obstructions, together with appurtenances and appurtenant work in connection therewith, in West Victoria Street and certain other streets, alleys and easements in said City; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 1773 of the Labor Code of the State of California, it is necessary that the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa ascertain and determine the general Prevailing rate of per diem wares in the locality, and the provisions of said Code make it mandatory upon the awarding body of any public contract where said body substantially calls for bids for any public i.r^movement, to ascertain and determine the general prevailing rate of per dies wages in the locality in which the public work is to be performed for each craft, classification or kind of workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract, and also the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work in the locality for each craft, classification or type of wcrkrar. or mechanic in accordance rri_th the schedule attached hereto; and WHEREAS, said Section 1773 of the Labor Code of the State of California re- quires the awarding hndy, in determining such rates, to ascertain and consider the applicable vane rates established Y.E. collective bargaining agreements and such rates aS may have been deter -fined by Federal p'c blic work within the locality and in the near- est labor market area and where such rates do not constitute the rates actually pre- vailing in the locality that the awarding body shall obtain and consider farther data from labor organizations, employers or employer associations concerned, including the recognized collective bargaining representatives for t -e particular craft, classification or type of wor'� 'nvolved.
