FESOLUTION NO. 107
A FESOLUTTON OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA OF INTENTION
TO ANNEX, AND GIVING NOTICE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, there is situated outside and contiguous to the City of Costa
Mesa a certain uninhabited area as hereinafter more particularly described; and
WHEREAS, the owners of over one-half of the land and the territory by
area and by assessed valuation as shown on the last eq all zed assessment roll in
the County of Orange have expressed themselves as desirous of having the same
annexed with the City of Costa Mesa, and
l'HEFEAS, it we In be for the best interests of the City of Costa Mesa to
annex the said hereinafter described pr,Ferty, and
WHEREAS, there has been submitted on or abo+.:t the 24th day of January, 10",
to the Oranse County Boundary Commission a legal description and plat of the said
hereinafter described uninhabited area, for its approval, pursuant to Section 35002
of the Government Code of the State of California; and
WHEFEAS, the approval of said Orange County Bc,.ndary Commission has been
secured and reported upon by the Boundary Commission with respect to the definite-
ness and the certainty of the proposed boundaries;
NOW, THEFEFOFE, BE IT FFSOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Costa
Mesa, a City of the 6th Class, to annex the said real property as hereinafter des-
cribed, which said real property is contipuors to the present boundaries of said
City of Costa Mesa, and which property is, at the present time, uninhabited.
NOTICE TS H:FEPY GIVEN that it is proposed by the said City of Costa Mesa
to annex the hereinafter described real property to the City of Costa Mesa, which
said real property shall, in these proceedings, bear the name "Vard Annexation".
The specific description of the boundaries of the tern tory proposed to be annexed
are as follows:
That portion of Lot A of the Banning Tract, in the Rancho Santiago de
Santa Ana, County of Or ante, State of California, as partitioned March,
1890, Case No. 6385, in the Superior Court of Los Angeles County, Calif-
ornia, described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Fair Drive, as des-
cribed in deed to the County of Orange, recorded August 2, 1050, in Book
2050, Page 59, of Official Fecords of said Oranve County, with the center-
line of Fairview Foad, 100 feet in width, formerly known as old Santa Ana
Road, which is distant thereon South 00 Oo' 100" West 1825.85 feet from
its intersection with the north line of said Lot A; thence South 800 56'
13" East 882.27 feet along the centerline of said Fair Drive to the east
line of the land described in deed to Southern California Bible College,
recorded March o, lobo, in Book 1812, Page 313 of Official Records of
said Orange County; thence South 1710.60 feet along said east line and
its prolons+ation to a line parallel with and northerly 373.01 feet meas-
ured at richt angles fron the north line of Tract No. 0 as per map record-
ed in Book 0, Pace 0 of Miscellaneous Naps, in the office of the County
Fecordcr of said Oranre County; thence South 800 58' 27" East 1118.57

feet to the northwesterly line of a 50 foot strip of land conve,-ed to

FJFTHSF NCTICE IS HEFEPy C1VEN, that on March 7th, 1955, at the hoer of
7:30 P.Y. on said day, or as s -on thereafter as the matter may be heard, at the
Council meeting at the Justice Court of Newoort Beach Judicial District, 567 West
Eighteenth Street, Costa Mesa, California, a hearing will be had, at which hearing
the City Council shall hear and pass upon all written protests filed at any time
before said hoes set for said hearing by any person owning real property within
the territory so pron•,sed to be annexed, ane at any time before the hour set for
said hearing, any owner of property within the territory proposed to be annexed
may file a written protest a-a'net the annexation. The protest shall set forth
the name of the owner o£' the property affected and give a description of said
property in general terms.

The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to mail a written not-
ice of the proposed annexation to all persons to whom land proposed to be annexed
is assessed in the last available eq alized assessment roll at the adcress shoo'n
thereon or as known to said City Clerk.
The above anc fore-inu Fesolution was duly and regi.lar-ly passed and adopt-
ed at a regi lar meeting of the City Council of the Ci. ty- of Costa Mesa held on the
24th day of January, 1055, by the following vote, to -wit:
