A FFSOL'TION Or TRE CITY COONCTL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA.
The Cit;; Council of the City of Costa Mesa, State of Cali-fornia, does
herebv resolve as follows:
WHEFEAS, the City of Costa Mesa has conducted a str.dy on the effect of
a freeway on Newport Boulevard from 20th Street to Palisades load in Costa Mesa)
and
bTHE:FEAS, the City Council declares that a freeway in said area would be
detrimental to the City of Costa ?less and detrimental to the free flow of traffic
through Costa Mesa,
NOW, THEFEFOFE, BE IT FESCLVED that the City Council of the City of Costa
Mesa requests the Department of P.blic Works, Livision of Highways, to rescind
its declaration making Newport Boulevard a freeway and that said Newport Boulevard
from 20th Street to Palisades Fbad be declared an arterial highway, a divided
hiohway with limited crossing and withort service roads.
The above and foreg-ing Fesolution was duly and regclarly passed and
adocted at a regular meeting of the Citv Council of the City of Costa Mesa held
on the seventh day of Febr,ary, En55, by the follcw,'_ng vote, to -wit:
