AMLYING FOR AN ALLOTMENT MMER CHAPTER 20, STATUTES OF 1946
WHERFA9, the State of California, ander Chapter 20, Statutes of. 1946
`., (First tetra Session), as amended, has appropriated funds for allotment to
Lprovide for financial assistance to Local Agencies, defined therein as counties,
cities end counties, or titles, so that they may engage in a large public works
construction program in order to prevent and alleviate unemployment; and
WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa, California, hereinafter designated
`7 'Local Agesoye desires to apply for an allotment of State aid for the construction
of a publie works project udder said let; and
=1 WHEREAS, an application to the State Director of Finance for each an
allotment bas been prepared and presented to this Legislative Body for considers -
tion; and
WHEREAS, Local Agency has made provisions for paying that portion of the
cost of the project not requested as an allotment from the Stats;
NOW, THEREFURE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Local Agency submit the aforesaid
application for State aid for construction of a public works project to the
Director of Finance, requesting an allotment of Sixty-three Thousand, Six
Hundred Eighty-seven and 5OA00 ($63,687.50) Dollars or an allotment of each
amount as may be allotted by the State Allocation Boards
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Local Agency hereby certifies that the
total estimate of cost to be paid for the Baker Street Water System for which
Local Agency is making application under said. Act is One Handrel Twenty-seven
Thousand, Three Hundred Seventy-five and un/lOO (;127,375.00) Dollars; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Local Agency hereby requests the State to
pap the Status share of the total actual cost of construction of the project
for which Local Agency is making application for aid;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that for the purpose of this request,
GEORGE W. COFFEE, City Manager, ill East 20th Street, Costa Mesa, Californiy
be,`and he hereby is designated as the authorized agent of Local Agency, and
is hereby authorized and directed to sign the herein mentioned application of
Local Agency and to submit the some to the State Director of Finance, together
with a certified statement of the total estimated cost to be paid for construc-
tion of the project herein mentioned and each other information as may be required;
and said authorized agent is further authorized and directed as representative

of Local Agency to conduct all negotiations and conclude all arrangements,
with either the State Allocation Board or the Director of Finance, including
requests for payment of the State's share of the cost of the construction of
the aforementioned public works project.

ornia, do hereby certify the foregoing to be a fall, true, end complete copy of
a resolution adopted by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, passed at
a regular meeting held on the 2nd day of May, 1955, as the same appears of
record in my office.
