A RESOLUTION OF THE CrR COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA PM INTEN-
TION TO ANNEX AND GIVING NOTICE THEREOF
WHEREAS, there is situated and contiguous to the City of Costa mesa,
a certain unincorporated area as hereinafter more particularly described,
and
WHEREAS, it would be for the beet of the City of Costa Mesa
-interest
and its citizens for the City of Costa mesa to annex the said hereinafter
described property, and
WHEREAS, the City of Costa mesa did, on or abut the 7th day of Jane,
1955, submit to the Orange County Boundary Commission a legal description and
plan of the said hereinafter described uninhabited arca for its approval pur-
seam to section 35002 of the Government Code of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the Oproval of said Orange County Boundary Commission has been
secured;
NOW, TBER"ORE, it is hereby resolved, determined and ordered as followsn
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City. of Costa Mesa hereby initiates
proceedings on its oro motion for the annexation of the following described
territory:
Beginning at a point in the existing City boundary line
of the City of Costa Mesa, said point being the intersection
of the West line of Fairview Road with the North line of
Orange Coast College as shorn on a Record Survey, Recorded
in Book 20, Page 15, Records of Orange County, California,
said point being 1623,55 feet South and 50.00 feet West from
the intersection of the centerlines of Fairview Road and
Baker Avenue; thence West along said North line of Orange
Coast College to a line 50 feet Easterly of and parallel to
the centerline of Harbor Boulevard said point being 1273.10
feet S"th--and 50.00 feet Beat, of: bhe: interseetlon of the
centerlines of Harbor Boulevard and Mople Avenue; thence
Southerly along said parallel line to a point 660.12 Souther-
ly of the South line of said Orange Coast College, said
point being 1220.03 feet South of the North line of Lot A
of Banning Tract, as shown on a map of said Tract filed in
the Case of Ranebek Banning for Partition and being Case No.
6385 upon the registrar of actions of the Superior Court of
the Stat# of California in and for Los Angeles County; thence
North 89 591 17e Seat to a point in the Westerly line of
Fairview Road and the existing City boundary of the City of
Costa Nese, said point being 659.39 feet Southerly of South
line of Orange Coast College, said point also being 1220.21
feet South of said North line of Lot A of Banning Traot;
theme Northerly along the existing City boundary, to the
point of beginning.
SECTION 2. That the said territory proposed to be annexed to the City
of Costa Mesa shall be known u *FAIRVIEW NO. 1 ANNASATION w.
SECTION 3. That a hearing with respect to said proposed annexation
shall be held on August 1, 1955, at the hoar of 700 P.M., before the City
Council of the City of Costa Mesa, in the chamber of said Council, located

at the Jsstice Court of Newport Beach Judicial District, 567 West 18th street,
Costa Mesa, California; that the purpose of said meeting is to hear protests
which have been filed by any person owning real property within amid territory
proposed to be annexed; that at any time before the hour set forth for said
hearing, an owner of the property within the territory proposed to be annexed
may file a written protest against the annexation; that the protesr shall state
the name of the owner of the property affected, and give a description of amid
property iq general terms.
SECTION 4. That the reasons for the City of Costa Mesa desiring annexation
of the within territory is that said annexation makes possible a more orderly
developenent of the City for puposes of assuring the proper land mss and by Wdng
City water abailable to the area.
The City Clerk is hereby anthorised and directed to mail a written notice
Li of the proposed annexation to each person to whoa land within the territory
proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last available equalised assessment
roll, at the address shown thereon, or as known to said Clerk.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk is hereby authorised and directed to cave
a copy of this Resolution to be published once a week for two weeks prior to said
hearing, in the Costa Mesa Globs-Nerald, a newspaper of general circulation published
in the City of Costa Mesa, and also in the Santa dna Register, a newspaper of
general circulation published in the County of orange, and outside the City of
Costa Mesa.
