HomeMy WebLinkAbout176 - Wilson Street Annexation - Intention to Annex265 Fh SOUITION NC. 176 A PESOLL TTOi' OF T^E CITY COD VCTL OF TBL CITY OF COSTA YESA, CALTFOPNIA, OF-NTENTTON TO ANNEX, ANF GTVT'"G NOTTCE THEIEOF. 51BEFEAS, there `s situated outside and contiguous to the City of Costa Mesa a certain uninhabited area as heiei.nafter more particularly described; and WH1'IEAS, the owners of over one-half of the land one the territory by area and by assessed valuat'on as s'qown on the last eq,alized assessment roll in the County of Orange have expressed themselves as desirous of having the same annexed with the City of Costa Mesa, and YiHE?-LAS, it wol.,ld be for the best interests of the City of Costa Mesa to annex the said hereinafter described property, and 'viHEFLAS, there has been submitted on or about the 11th day of October, 1955, to the Orange County Boundary Comc"fission a legal description and plat of the said hereinafter uninhabited area, for its approval, pursuant to Section 35002 of the Government Code of the State of California; and l,Hl,1 EAS, the approval of said Oranve County Boundary Commission has been secured and renorted upon by the Boundary Commission with respect to the de£inite- ness and the certainty of the proposed boundaries; NOW, THIIEFOPE, BE TT IESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, a Cit- of the Sixth Class, to annex the said real property as hereinafter described, which said real property is contiguous to the present boundaries of saa_d City of Costa r'esa, and wh;.ch pr�nerty is, at the present time, uninhabited. NCTTCE TS HLILBY GIVEN that it is proposed by the said City of Costa Mesa to annex the hereinafter described real property to the City of Costa Mesa, which said real property shall, in these proceedings, bear the name "Wilson Street Annexation". The specific description of the boundaries of the territory pro- posed to be annexed are as follows: "Beginning at a point in the existing City Boundary line of the City of Costa Mesa, said point being the intersection of the West line of Placentia Avenue, formerly Meyer Street, with the centerline of Wilson Street as shown on a map of Tract No. 9, recorded in Book p, page C. Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California; thence Westerly along said centerline of Wilson Street and the existing City Boundary line to the So,.:therly prolongation of the West line of Lot 34 of said Tract No. 9; thence Northerly along said West line of Lot 34, its Northerly prclonRati.on ane the existing City Boundary line to the North line of the alley, 12 feet in width lying Nnitherly of and adjoining said Lot 34; thence leaving said City Houndary line and running thence Easterly 1266 along said North line of the alley to a point in the existing City Boundary line, said point being, the intersection of said North line of the alley with the Northerly prolongation of the East line of said Lot 34, said East line beinc also the West line of said Placentia Avenue; thence Southerly along said Northerly prolongation, said East line of Lot 34, and the exist- ing City Boundary line to the point of beginning." PJRTHEE NOTICE, IS HJILLY GIVEN that on the 28th day of November, 1055, at the hour of 7:30 P ., on said day, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, at the Council meeting at the Justice Court of Newport Beach Judicial District, 567 West Eighteenth Street, Costa Mesa, California, a hearing will be had, at which hearing the City Council shall hear and pass upon all written protests filed at any tire before said hour set for said hearing by any person owning real property within the territory so proposed to be annexed, and at any time before the ho -r set for said hearing an,,, owner of property within the terr- itory proposed to be annexed may file a written protest against the annexation. The protest shall set forth the name of the owner of the property affected and give a description of said property in general terms. The Cit!, Clerk of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby a--. thorized and direct- ed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be piblished once a week for two weeks prior to said hearing in the Costa Mesa Globe -Herald, a newspaper of general circulation, p, . bl'shed in the City of Costa Mesa, and also in the Santa Ana Fee- ister, a newspaper of general circulation published in the County of Orange and outside the City of Costa Mesa. The City Clerk is further a:thorized and directed to mail a written notice of the proposed annexation to all persors to whpm land proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last available eonal`zed assessment roll at the address shown thereon or as known to said City Clerk.
