lWaEFEAS, the traditional rights and freedoms we enjoy as citizens of a
great de-ocracy are based upon fundamental liberties and responsibilities set
forth in the first ten ao,endments to the Il-ited States Constitution, and
W9FFEAS, the Bill of Fights (the first ten amendments to the (n'ted
States Constitution) guarantees to every American their basic rights, and
NJFLF.E:AS, all of e r citizens, regardless of race or creed, laborer or
employer, rest stand firmly on the basic principles outlined in the Bill of
Eights to preserve the valued privileges guaranteed therein, and
WULFEAS, December 15, 1955, marks the 164th anniversary of the Bill of
Rights to oi:r Federal Constitution,
BE IT F'ESCLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa that we
commemorate Bill of Fights week Fecember 9 through December 15, 1955, that all
the citizens of oiir City familiarize themsevles with the ten amendments making
up the Pill of Fights, and that they resolve to accept and give the principles
therein granted to all citizens.
PASSED and adopted this 21st day of November, 1055.
