HomeMy WebLinkAbout183 - Bissell Annexation - Intention to Annex2751. 4P RESOLUTION NO. 183 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITE COUNCIL OF THE CITE OF COST MESA, CALIFORNIA, OF INTENTION TO ANNEX, AND GIVING NOTICE THEREOF. WKEREAS, there is situated outside and comiguoas to the City of Costa Mesa a certain uninhabited area as hereinafter are particularly deseribeds and WIREM, the owners of over one-half of the land and the territory by area and by assessed valuation as shwon on the last equalised assessment roll in the County of Orange have expressed themselves as desirous of having the sane annexed with the City of. Costa Nesa,and WHEREAS, it would be for the best interesrs of the City of Costa Mesa to annex the said hereinafter described property, and VHEAEIB, there has been submitted on or about the 14th day of November, 1955, to the Orange County Boundary Commission a legal description and plat of the mid hereinafter uninhabited area, for its approval, pursuant to Section 35002 of the Government Code of the State of California, and VREREAS, the approval of said Orange County Boundary Commission has been secured and reported upon by the Boundary Commission with respect to the definiteness and the certainty of the proposed boundaries; NOW, THEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Costa Nem, a City of the Sixth Class, to annex the said real property as here- inafter described, which said real property is contiguous to the present boundaries of said City of Costa Nem, and which property is, at the present time, uninhabited. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is proposed by the said City of Costa Mesa to annex the hereinafter described real property to the City of Costa Nen}, which said real property shall, in these proceedings, bear the name *BISSELL ANNEXATION". The specific description of thei . boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed are as follows "Beginning at a point in the existing boundary line of the City of Costa Nesa, said point being the intersection of the Northeast- erly line of 20th Street with the Southeasterly line of Irvine Avenue; thence Northeasterly along said Southeasterly line of Irvine Avenue to the Southeasterly prolongation of a line 140.09 feet Southwesterly of and parallel to the Northeasterly Sine of Lot 228, Newport Heights, as shown on a sup thereof, recorded in Book 4, Page 83, Miscellaneous laps, records of Orange County, California; ihenoe Nmrthresterly along said 3ontheasterly prolongation and said parallel line 190.00 feet; thence Northeasterly along a line parallel to Irvine Avenue 140.09 feet to the Northeasterly line of said Lot 228; thence Northwesterly along said Northeast line of Lot 228 to the amt Northerly corner of said Lot 228; thence Southwesterly along the Northwesterly line of said Lot 128 to the mast Easterly corner of Lot 217 of said Newport Heigbts.; theme Northwesterly along the Northeasterly line of said Lot 217, 126.00 feet Northwesterly of the Southeasterly line of said Lot 217 to the Northeasterly line of 20th Street, said point being also in the existing boundary line of the City of Costa Masa; , themes Southeasterly along said Nertherasterly line of 20th Street and said City boundary line to.. the point of beginning". r 206 FURTHER NOTICE IS BMW OILER that on the 3rd day of January, 1956, at the hour of 7130 P.M., on said day, or as soon thereafter as the matter =7 be heard, at the Council meting at the Justice Court of Newport Beech Judicial Dlstriet, 567 West 18th Street, Costa Nom, California, a hear- ing earing will be had, at which hearing the City Council shall hear and pass upon all written protests filed at any time before said hour set for said hearing by any perseliouning property (real.) within the territory so proposed to be annexed, and at any time before the hour set for arid hearing any owner of property within the territory proposed to be annexed may file a written protest against the annexa- tion. The protest shall set forth the nese of the owner of the property affected and give a description of said property in general term. The City Clerk of�the City of Costa Mesa is hereby authorised and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be published once a week for two weeks prior to said hearing in the Costa Most Globe Herald, a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City of Costa Mesa, and also in the Santa Ana Register, a newspaper of general circulation published in the County of Orange and outside the City of Costa Mesa. The City Clerk is further authorised and directed to mail a written notice of the proposed annexation to all persons to whom land proposed to be annexed is amassed in the last available equalised assessment roll at the address shown thereon or es known to said City Clerk.
