A FESOILTTION OF T??F, CTTY CCGNCTL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA OF INTENTION
TO ANNEX, ANL GTVING NOTTCE THEFEOF.
WHEREAS, there is situated outside and contiguous to the City of Costa
Mesa a certain uninhabited area as hereinafter more particularly described; and
WHhTEAS, the ownersof over one-half of the land and the territory by
area and by assessed valuation as shown on the last equalized assessment roll
in the County of Orange have expressed themselves as desirous of having the same
annexed with the City of Costa "esa, and
TrMIJEAS, it would be for the best interests of the City of Costa Mesa to
annex the said hereinafter described property, and
r V.71EFEAS, there has been su.b7itted on or about the 11th day of duly, lo[[,
to the Oran?e County Boundary CcTission a legal description and plat of the -7ai.d
hereinafter uninhabited area, for its approval, pursv-ant to Section 35002 of the
Government Code of the State of California; and
iJHibEAS, the approval of said Orange County Boundary Commission has been
secured and reported upon by the Boundary Commission with respect to the definite-
ness and the certainty of the proposed boundaries;
NOV, THEFEFOFE, BE IT FrSOLIED, by the City Council of the City of Costa
Mesa, a City of the Sixth Class, to annex the said real property as hereinafter
described, which said real property is contiguo_:s to the present boundaries of
said City of Costa Nesa, and which property is, at the present time, uni.nhahited.
NOTICE T.� HEFERY GTVEN that, it is proposed by the said City of Costa Mesa
to annex the hereinafter descr;i,ed real property= to the Cite of Costa Mesa, which
said real property shall, in these proceedi.nps, bear the name "Baker Street No. 2
Annexation". The srecific description of the bounear es of the terr-7tory proposed
to be annexed are as follows:
Berinning at a point in the existing City boundary of
the City of Costa Mesa, said point being_ the Southeast corner
of Lot 18, Block B, Berry Tract, as said Tract is laid out and
shown on a map thereof in Miscellaneous hecords, Book 9,
page 6, Fecords of Los Angeles County, California; thence
Northerly along_ the Easterly line of said Lot 18 and the Northerly
prolongation thereof to the North line of Baker Avenue; thence
Westerly alone sa d North line of Barer Avenue to the East line
of Babb Street; thence Northerly along_ said East line of Babb Street
to the centerline of Paularino Avenue; thence Westerly along_ said
centerline of Paularino Avenue and the Northerly line of the private
road 33 feet in width, lying Northerly of and adjacent to Block A
of said Berry Tract, to the easterly line of Fairview Eoad, said
point also being_ i_n the existing boundary line of the -City of
Costa Mesa; thence Southerly, Easterly, Southerly and Easterly
along- the existing boundary line of the City of Costa T'esa, to the
point of beginning.
FTFTHER NOTICE IS HEFERY GIVEN, that on the 22nd day of August, 1055,
at the hour of 7:30 P.T. on said day, or as soon thereafter as the matter may
be heard, at the Council meeting at the Justice Court of Newrort Reach Judicial
Fi.stri.ct, 567 West Eighteenth Street, Costa Nesa, Cal'fornia, a hearing will be
had, at which hearing the Y ty Council shall hear and pass upon all written pro-
tests filed at any time before sa' d hour set _for said hearing by any person own-
ing real property within the territory so proposed to be annexed, and at any time
before the hour set for said hearing any owner of property within the territory
proposed to be annexed may file a written protest against the annexation. The
protest shall set forth the name of the owner of the property affected and give
a description of said property in general terms.
The City Clerk of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby authorized and direct-
ed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be published once a week for two weeks
prior to said hearins in the Costa Mesa Globe -Herald, a newspaper of general
publication, published in the City of Costa Yesa, and also in the Santa Ana Reg-
ister, a newspaper of general circulation published in the Count- of Oranne and
outside the City of Costa Mesa.
The Cite Clerk 's fvrther authorized and directed to mail a written not-
ice of the prorosed annexation to all persons to whom land proTosed to be annexed
is assessed in the last available equal zee assessment roll at the ar.'.dress shown
thereon or as known to said Citv Clerk.
The above and foregoing Lesolution was dvlT and regularly passed and
adoptee at a regular mFetinr of the City Council of the Cite of Costa Mesa held
on the 18th day of July, 1455, by the following vote, to -wit:
