RESOLUTION NO. 276
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA OF INTENTION
TO ANNEX, AND GIVING NOTICE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, there is situated outside and contiguous to the City of Costa
Mesa a certain uninhabited area as hereinafter ex+re particularly described; and
WHEREAS, the owners of over one-half of the land and the territory by
area and by assessed valuation as shown on the last equalized assessment roll in
the County of Orange have expressed themselves as desirous of having the same annex-
ed with the City of Costa Mesa; and
WHEREAS, there has been submitted on or about the let day of November,
1956, to the Orange County Boundary Commission a legal description and plat of the
said hereinafter described uninhabited area, for its approval, pursuant to Section
35002 of the Government Code of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the approval of said Orange County Boundary Commission has been
secured and reported upon by the Boundary Commission with respect to the definite -
uses and the certainty of the proposed boundaries;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Costa
Mesa, a City of the Sixth Class, to annex the said real property as hereinafter
described, which said real property is contiguous to the present boundaries of said
City of Costa Mesa, and which property is, at the present time, uninhabited.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is proposed by the said City of Costa Mesa
to annex the hereinafter described real property to the City of Costa Mesa, which
said real property shall, in these proceedings, bear the name "TALBERT ANNEXATION NO.
1". The specific description of the boundaries of the territory proposed to be
annexed is as followsf
Beginning at a point in the existing boundary line of
the City of Costa Mesa, said point being the intersection
of the northerly line of Gisler Avenue with the Westerly
line of Herb= Boulevard; thence Northerly along said
Westerly line of Harbor Boulevard to the Northerly line
of Talbert Avenue, sixty feet in width;. thence Westerly
along said Northerly line of Talbert Avenue to the Easterly
line of the Santa Ana River, said easterlyline being the
Easterly line of the twenty-five foot strip conveyed to
the Orange County Flood Control District, by deed recorded
June 6th, 1951, in Book 2197, page 226 of Official
Records, Orange County; thence Southwesterly along
maid Easterly line of the Santa Ana Rive to the
Northerly line of Gisler Avenue; thence Easterly
along said Northerly line of Gisler Avenue to the point
of beginning.

FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that on the 17th day of December, 1956s
at the hour of 7:30 P.M. on said day, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard,
at the Council meeting at the Justice Court of Newport Reach Judicial District, 567
Nest 18th Street, Costa Mesa, California, a hearing will be had, at which hearing
the City Council shall hear and pass upon all written protests filed at any time
hearing any owner of property within the territory proposed to be annexed may file
a written protest against the annexation. The protest shall set forth the name of
the owner of the property affected and give a description of said property in general
'j terms.
The City Clark of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby authorised and directed
to cause a eppy of this Resolution to be published once a week for two weeks prior
to said hearing in the Costa Mesa Globe-Rerald, a newspaper of general circulation,
published in the City of Costa Mesa, and also in the Newport Harbor Ensign, a newa-
paper of general circulation published in the County of Orange and outside the City
of Costa Mesa.
The City Clerk is further authorised and directed to mail a written notice
of the proposed annexation to all persons to whom land proposed to be annexed is
assessed in the last available equalised assessment roll at the address shown thereon
or as known to said City Clerk.
PASSED and adopted this 5th day of November, 1956.

that the above and foregoing Resolution No. 276 was duly and regularly passed and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa held on
the 5th day of November, 1956.

said hearing by any person owning real
property within the
territory so proposed to
be annexed, and at any time before the
hour set for said
hearing any owner of property within the territory proposed to be annexed may file
