A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA,
CALIFORNIA, ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING THE PREVAILING RATE
OF WAGES TO BE PAID FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF POMONA AVENUE AND
CERTAIN OTHER STREETS IN ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 14.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California, did on
the 7th day of June, 1965, adopt Resolution of Intention No. 65-44, for the
construction of sidewalks and driveway approaches in Pomona Avenue and certain
other streets (Assessment District No: 14); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 1733 of the Labor Code
of the State of California, it is necessary that the City Council ascertain
and determine the general prevailing rate of wages on public works, and the
provisions of said Code make it mandatory upon the awarding body of any
public contract where said body subsequently calls for bids for any public
improvement to ascertain and determine the general prevailing rate of per
diem wages in the locality in which the work is to be performed, for each
craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract, and also
the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work for each craft
or type of workman or mechanic;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California,
has ascertained and does hereby determine that the general prevailing rate
of per diem wages in the locality in which said work, described, is to be
performed in the matter of certain public improvements for the construction
of sidewalks and driveway approaches in Pomona Avenue and certain other
streets (Assessment District No. 14) for each craft or type of workman or
mechanic needed to execute the contract, and also the general prevailing rate
for legal holidays and overtime work for each craft or type of workman or
mechanic in accordance with the schedule attached hereto.
