HomeMy WebLinkAbout65-84 - Victoria Street Annexation - to Recreation & Park DistrictRESowmw No. 65-84 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, ACTING AS THE SUPERVISING AUTHORITY OF THE COSTA MESA RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT, ANNEXING TERRITORY TO SAID DISTRICT. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California, does hereby resolve and determine as follows: WHEREAS, a hearing was held on the 20th day of September, 1965, to consider a proposed annexation to the Costa Mesa Recreation and Park District; and WHEREAS, notice of said hearing has been given by publication once a week for two successive weeks in the ORANGE COAST DAILY PILOT, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa, and in the NEWPORT HARBOR ENSIGN, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the County of Orange outside the City of Costa Mesa circulated in the area proposed to be annexed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this City Council finds that it is to the benefit of the Costa Mesa Recreation and Park District and to the territory hereinafter described that said territory be annexed to the Costa Mesa Recreation and Park District. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the hereinbelow described property be, and it is hereby ordered annexed to the Costa Mesa Recreation and Park District: Beginning at an angle point in the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa as said boundary is described in Republic No. 2 Annexation to the City of Costa Mesa, California, Ordinance No. 43, adopted April 26, 1954, said angle point being the inter- section of the centerline of Canyon Drive, 60 feet in width, with the southerly line of Tract No. 653, as shown on a map thereof, recorded in book 19, page 42 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California; thence south 890 28' 00" west along said southerly line of said Tract No. 653, and the existing boundary as described in Republic No. 1 Annexation to the City of Costa Mesa, California, Ordinance No. 38, adopted March 15, 1954, and the Canyon Annexation to the City of Costa Mesa, California, Ordinance No. 244, adopted June 29, 1959, a distance of 990.15 feet to a point on the southerly prolongation of the center line of Pacific Avenue, 60.00 feet in width, as shown on a map of said Tract No. 653, said point being the southeast corner of Lot 75, Fairview Farms, as shown on a map thereof, recorded in book 8, page 71 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California; thence departing from said southerly line of said Tract No. 653; north 0 32' 00" west along said southerly prolongation of said Pacific Avenue and the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa as said boundary is described in River No. 2 Annexation to the City of Costa Mesa, California, Ordinance No. 397, adopted October 16, 1961, a distance of 264.10 feet to the southerly line of Lot 38 of said Tract 653; thence north 890 28' 00" east, along said southerly line of Lot 38, of Tract No. 653, and the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa as said boundary is described in River No. 4 Annexation to the City of Costa Mesa, California, Ordinance No. 62-46, adopted December 3, 1962, a distance of 300.05 feet to the westerly line of Valley Road, 60.00 feet in width, as shown on a map of said Tract No. 653; thence departing from said southerly line of Lot 38 of said Tract No. 653; north 00 32' 00" West, along said westerly line of said Valley Road, 366.15 feet to the northerly line of Lot 40 of said Tract No. 653, said northerly line also being the southerly line of Victoria Street, 60.00 feet in width, as shown on said Tract No. 653; thence departing from said existing boundary north 890 28' 00" east along the easterly prolongation of the northerly line of Lot 40 of said Tract No. 653 and the southerly line of said Victoria Street, 690.10 feet to the center line of pre- viously mentioned Canyon Drive and the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa, as previously mentioned in Republic No. 2 Annexation to the City of Costa Mesa; thence south 00 32' 00" east along said center line of Canyon Drive and said existing boundary, 630.25 feet to the point of beginning. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the hereinabove described annexa- tion to the Costa Mesa Recreation and Park District shall be and become effective concurrently with the VICTORIA STREET ANNEXATION to the City of Costa Mesa.
