A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA
ENDORSING AND SUPPORTING THE CHILDRENS HOSPITAL OF ORANGE
COUNTY BENEFIT GAME WHICH WILL OPEN THE NEW CALIFORNIA
ANGELS STADIUM AT ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the Childrens Hospital of Orange County will benefit from the
first baseball game to be played in the new Angels Stadium at Anaheim on the
9th day of April, 1966; and
WHEREAS, this exhibition game between the California Angels and the
San Francisco Giants will mark an outstanding step forward in baseball history
in Orange County; and
WHEREAS, the Childrens Hospital of Orange County deserves the support
of all citizens and will receive one-half of the proceeds of its ticket sales
for this first game; and
WHEREAS, this City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the
City that this noteworthy event be accorded general endorsement and support;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,, that the Childrens Hospital of Orange
County Benefit Game, marking the opening of the Angels Stadium in Anaheim,
is hereby endorsed and commended by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa
and all residents are hereby urged to join in support of this project.

above and foregoing Resolution No. 65-97 was duly and regularly passed and
adopted by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa at a regular meeting held
on the 15th day of November, 1966, by unanimous vote.
