HomeMy WebLinkAbout66-18 - Paularino Avenue Ramp - Requesting Temporary StreetRESOLUTION N0. 66-18 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA REQUESTING APPROVAL OF A TMFORARY PUBLIC STREET ACROSS A PORTION OF THE RIGHT OF WAY ACQUIRED BY THE STATE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE ROU'T'E 73 FREEWAY. WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa and the State of California have entered into a freeway agreement covering construction, of the Route 73 freeway within the City of Costa Mesa; and WHEREAS, said freeway agreement provides for reconstruction on new alignment of a portion of Paularino Avenue on the easterly side of said freeway; and WHEREAS, the State has acquired portions of the right of way required for said freeway construction northerly of Paularino Avenue; and WHEREAS, the State's acquisition through an approximate 60 -acre parcel has left an approximate 18.5 -acre remainder which will be without access to Paularino Avenue until the State's reconstruction of Paularino Avenue has been accomplished; and WHEREAS, a residential tract is planned to be developed on the approximate 18.5 -acre remainder prior to the State's reconstruction of the freeway; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa that the California Highway Commission is hereby requested to approve construction of a temporary public street across a portion of the State- owned freeway right of way as shown on the plan attached hereto with the understanding that said temporary public street will be maintained by the City of Costa Mesa and will be closed upon completion of the State's reconstruc- tion of Paularino Avenue as provided in the freeway agreement.
