HomeMy WebLinkAbout66-32 - Name Change - Huntzinger & Wakeham to Sunflower AvenueRESOLUTION N0. 66-32 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA CHANGING THE NAME OF HUNTZINGER AVENUE FROM THE WEST CITY LIMITS TO FAIRVIEW ROAD, AND OF WAKEHAM AVENUE FROM FAIRVIEW ROAD TO BEAR STREET, TO SUNFLOWER AVENUE. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Costa Mesa has recommended to the City Council that the name of Huntzinger Avenue between the west City limits and Fairview Road, and of Wakehem Avenue, between Fairview Road and Bear Street, be changed to SUNFLOWER AVENUE; and WHEREAS, the proposed realignment of Huntzinger Avenue and Wakeham Avenue with the existing Sunflower Avenue will create one continuous secondary highway; and WHEREAS, the Planning Department of the City of Santa Ana has concurred with the Planning Commission of the City of Costa Mesa in recommending the proposed change of name; and WHEREAS, this City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City that said street names be changed as recommended by the Planning Com- mission; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa that the name of Huntzinger Avenue between the west City limits and Fairview Road, and of Wakeham Avenue between Fairview Road and Bear Street, be, and the same are hereby changed to SUNFLOWER AVENUE.
