A RESOLU'T'ION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA
COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE REVEREND ANTHONY MCGOWAN
UPON THE TWENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS ORDINATION TO THE
PRIESTHOOD.
WHEREAS, the Reverend Anthony McGowan of St. John the Baptist Church
is presently celebrating his Silver Jubilee as a member of the priesthood; --�
and
WHEREAS, Father McGowan has won deserved distinction as the first
priest of his parish and its guide in the development of a church plant
of which the City of Costa Mesa is proud; and
WHEREAS, Father McGowan has been active in civic affairs and always
has had the best interest of his community at heart; and
WHEREAS, this City Council deems that his constructive service to
his city has been over and above his parish duties and demands recognition;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Costa Mesa that the Reverend Anthony McGowan of St. John the Baptist Church
is hereby commended and congratulated by this City Council, as individuals
and as representatives of the citizens of the City of Costa Mesa, for the
valued and constructive part he has played in the development of both his
church and his city; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk of the City of Costa Mesa is
hereby directed to enter this Resolution in the permanent records of the City
and to transmit a certified copy to Father McGowan.
