RESOLUTION NO. 89-159 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA ESTABLISHING THE BASIC PAY SCHEDULE AND ESTABLISHING THE RATES OF PAY FOR CLASSIFICATIONS AND EMPLOYEES PLACED UNDER THE BASIC PAY SCHEDi1LE, AND ADDING ONE CLASSIFICATION AND RATE OF PAY OUT- SIDE THE BASIC PAY SCHEDULE The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby resolve, deter- mine and order as follows: SECTION 1. The following job classifications are hereby placed under the Basic Pay Schedule for Employees of the City of Costa Mesa at the pay ranges and monthly rates of pay specified effective July 2, 1989. The monthly rate of pay may also be in two and one-half percent (2.5%) incre- ments between the monthly minimum and maximum pay step. The following are the rates of pay specified for special assignment, bilingual, and shift differential pay. Paramedic Assignment Applicable only to Fire Department personnel when assigned to the Mobil Intensive Care Division: 10% above the monthly pay step of Firefighter when first assigned 11.25% above the monthly pay step of Firefighter after first recertification in Orange County 12.50% above the monthly pay step of Firefighter after second recertification in Orange County 13.75% above the monthly pay step of Firefighter after third recertification in Orange County Motorcycle Assignment Applicable only to employees in the classifications of Police Officer, Senior Police Officer, and Police Sergeant when so assigned to motorcycle duty: 5% over assigned rate per shift. Uniform Assignment Applicable only to employees in the classifications, of Senior Police Officer, Police Sergeant and Police Lieutenant when permanently assigned to perform a uniform patrol assignment in the Uniform Division of the Police Department: 2.5% over assigned rate. Felice officers currently receiving uniform assignment pay are eligible to continue to receive this compensation until reass icgned . F'z'O Assignment Applicable only to Police Department employees designated as Field Trainir- Officers when they actually perform those duties: 5% over assigned rate. Bilingual Pay Applicable to employees in the job classifications determined by the City Manager and when so assigned to use their bilingual abilities: 5% over assigned rate. Niaht Shift Differential Applicable only to Police D partment clerical classifications: 3.5% over assigned rate per shift. Morning Shift Differential Applicable only to Police Department clerieal classifications: 7.5% over assigned rate per shift. SECTION 3. The followirtj Basic Pay Schedule is hereby adopted, effec- tive duly 2, 1989; rates established in the Basic Pay Schedule are expressed in dollars per month.
