HomeMy WebLinkAbout89-165 - Police Services User FeesRESOLUTION NO. 89-165 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING NEW POLICE SERVICES USER FEES. WHEREAS, the City hired Vertex Cost Systems, Incorporated, a Financial Consultant, to conduct an assessment of cost recovery under current user fee schedules; and WHEREAS, the Consultant has determined that only 60 percent of costs are being recovered; and WHEREAS, the City Council has evaluated justification for an increase in current fees and institution of new fees given economic and social fac- tors, as well as average fees charged by surrounding cities; and WHEREAS, the City and the Consultant have determined that the fees set forth in the attached sheet would allow for close to, but not exceeding, 100 percent recovery; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa that the attached police services fee schedule shall be insti- tuted upon the effective date of Ordinance 89-18. ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE - The above fees will be evaluated once a year and recommendations for adjustments will be sutxnitted as part of the annual User Fee Study.
