A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA
CONFIRMLNG THE REPORT OF THE CITY ENGINEER DATED JUNE 21, 1966,
PREPARED PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE "STREET LIGHTING ACT
OF 1919," AND REFERRED TO IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION N0. 66-61;
AND ORDERING THE WORK AND LEVYING THE ASSESSMENT FOR SERVICE
NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN AND ILLUMINATE BY ELECTRIC ENERGY THE
STREET LIGHTS WITHIN SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California,
did, on the 20th day of June, 1966, adopt Resolution No. 66-56 ordering
the City Engineer to make and file a report in writing pursuant to the
provisions of the "Street Lighting Act of 1919", being Part 1, Division
14 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer did, on the 5th day of July, 1966, file
said report with said City Council; and
WHEREAS, said City Council approved said report by Resolution No.
66-60 adopted on the 5th day of July, 1966; and
WHEREAS, on said date said City Council did further adopt Resolution
No. 66-61 declaring its intention and ordering the proposed street lighting
improvements; and
WHEREAS, said City Council did on said date adopt Resolution No.
66-62 appointing the time and place for hearing protests to the proposed
improvement; and
WHEREAS, at the time and place above stated for hearing protests,
said City Council did proceed to hold and did hold said hearing; and
WHEREAS, at the time and place above stated for hearing protests in
reference to the proposed improvement and assessment, no protests, either
written or oral, were submitted or made; and
WHEREAS, the said City Council having held said hearing, and being
fully advised in the premises, has now acquired jurisdiction to proceed
further;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California,
does resolve, declare, find, determine and order as follows:
SECTION 1. That said Council does hereby approve, confirm and adopt
the report of the City Engineer dated June 7, 1966, and does hereby approve
and confirm the assessment proposed for the proposed improvement set forth
and referred to in said report, which said report is now on file in the
Office of the City Clerk of said City, open to public inspection, and hereby
referred to and made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. That the boundaries of the District as shown in said report
are hereby established and the description of said boundaries are set forth
in a map on file with the Assessor for Orange County as of December 31st,
1965; that no zones within said district are established.
SECTION 3. That the period of time for which the proposed improvement
shall continue is eight (8) months beginning November 1, 1966, and ending
June 30, 1967.
SECTION 4. That the proposed improvement is the installation of street
light standards, appliances and fixtures, and the maintenance of street light
standards, appliances and fixtures, and the furnishing of electric current
therefore.
SECTION 5. That the estimated cost of the proposed improvement for
the first year is $293,603.50; that all of the estimated cost for the
first year shall be borne by the District.
SECTION 6. The City Council does hereby order the proposed improve-
ment to be made; and said Council does hereby order that the estimated
cost of the proposed improvement shall be paid by special assessment taxes
levied upon all the lands Ahd mpxavemi s within the District.
SECTION 7. That the City Clerk of said City is hereby ordered to
transmit to the County Assessor for the County of Orange, and to the
State Board of Equalization, a certified copy of this Resolution together
with a map or plan of the district and a legal description of the bound-
aries of said district.
SECTION 8. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this Resolution and shall cause the same to be entered among
the original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the
passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the
City Council of the meeting at which the same was passed and adopted.
SECTION 9. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately.

being Resolution No. 66-67, was duly passed, approved and adopted by the
City Council of said City, approved and signed by the Mayor, and attested
by the City Clerk, all at an adjourned regular meeting of said City
Council held on the 1st day of August, 1966, and that the same was passed
and adopted by the following vote, to wit:
