HomeMy WebLinkAbout66-74 - Paularino No. 11 Annexation - Application to L.A.F.C.RESOLUTION NO. 66-74 A RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION BY THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, TO THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMA- TION COMMISSION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: (a) That the Local Agency Formation Commission did on the 9th day of June, 1966, present the legal description of the proposed annexation Paularino No. 11 to the County Surveyor for checking and the same having been found reasonably definite and certain, and (b) That the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby find and determine: 1. That the property proposed to be annexed to the City of Costa Mesa is uninhabited, is contiguous to the boundaries of the City of Costa Mesa. 2. That the territory to be annexed is designated as Paularino No. 11 and the legal description of the property is as follows: "A parcel of land lying within Lots 133 and 134, Block 7 of Irvine's Subdivision in the County of Orange, State of California, as shown on a map thereof, recorded in book 1, page 88 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point in the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa as described in the Paul- arino No. 4 Annexation to the City of Costa Mesa, Ordinance No. 355, adopted April 17, 1961, said point being the intersection of the center line of Paularino Avenue, 60 feet in width, as granted to the County of Orange by deed, recorded April 2, 1940, in book 1042, page 96 of Official Records of said Orange County, with the Southeasterly line of Newport Avenue, 60 feet in width, as granted to the County of Orange by deed, recorded in book 250, page 73 of Book of Deeds; thence North 40° 37' 45" East along said Southeasterly line and said existing boundary and the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa as described in the Paularino No. 1 Annexation to the City of Costa Mesa, Ordinance No. 283, adopted January 11, 1960, a distance of 2116.48 feet to the Easterly prolongation of the Northerly line of Lot 4, Berry Rancho, as shown on a map there- of, recorded in book 9, page 7 of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California; thence departing from said Southeasterly line and said exist- ing boundary South 85° 35' 15" East, 1070.52 feet to the Westerly terminus of that certain course described as "North 680 02' 08" West, 453.49 feet" in the southerly righteof way line of the San Diego Freeway; thence South 68 02' 08" East along said Southerly right of way line, 453.49 feet; thence South 850 26' 04" East, 119.06 feet to the center line of Red Hill Avenue, 100.00 feet in width, as granted to the County M of Orange by deed, recorded in book 7148, page 205 of Official Records; thence degarting from said Southerly right of way line, South 40 37' 45" West along said center line of Red Hill Avenue, 3003.26 feet to the center line of previously mentioned Paularino Avenue and the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa as described in the Paularino No. 7 Annexation to the City of Costa Mesa, Ordinance No. 65-8, adopted April S. 1965; thence departing from said center line of Red Hill Avenue, North 49° 21' 09" West along said center line of Paularino Avenue and said existing boundary, 1410.00 feet to the point of beginning." 3. That the reason for the proposed annexation is that the territory is ready for development and that City services are necessary for the protection of health, safety and welfare of the developers and that the City of Costa Mesa is the agency most feasible to provide said facilities to said area. 4. That there are no special terms or conditions to the proposed annexation. S. That the agencies effected by said annexation, to the best of applicants' knowledge, are as follows: County Sanitary District No. 7 Orange County Flood Control District Harbor District Mosquito Abatement District County Library District Metropolitan Water District Santa Ana School District 6. That attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution as Exhibit "A" is a map of the territory proposed to be annexed. 7. That all notices with respect to hearings should be mailed to the following persons: A. R. McKenzie, City Manager, City Hall, Costa Mesa Roy E. June, City Attorney, 1500 Adams Street, Suite 206, Costa Mesa Don Southworth, City of Costa Mesa Engineer, 116 East 18th Street, Costa Mesa.
