RESOLUTION N0. 66-79
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA
EXPRESSING THE SYMPATHY OF THE CITY AND ITS CITIZENS TO
CAPTAIN JACK IVERSON IN THE TRAGIC LOSS OF HIS WIFE AND
DAUGHTER.
WHEREAS, this community has been shocked by the tragic accident
on August 14th in which Mrs. Dorothy Iverson and Becky Sue Iverson,
wife and daughter of Captain Jack Iverson of the Costa Mesa Police
Department, lost their lives near Winnemucca, Nevada; and
WHEREAS, Captain Jack Iverson, as husband and father, has under-
gone the sorrowful experience of a vacation trip that suddenly culminated
in disaster and the death of two of those most dear to him; and
WHEREAS, this Council well knows the weakness of words in such an
event, yet deems it both necessary and proper that an effort be made to
express the heartfelt sympathy of the City and its citizens for Captain
Iverson;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Costa Mesa that this Council, as the elected representatives of the citi-
zens of the City of Costa Mesa, and as individuals, hereby extends its
deepest sympathy to Captain Jack Iverson and his daughter, Trina, in their
loss; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Costa Mesa
is hereby directed to enter this resolution in the permanent records of
the City and transmit a certified copy thereof to Captain Jack Iverson.
PASSED AND ADOPTED, this 15th day of August, 1966.
