HomeMy WebLinkAbout66-86 - Prohibiting Parking - West Side of Newport BoulevardM RESOLUTION N0. 66-86 A RESOIUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE WEST SIDE OF NEWPORT BOULEVARD FROM 300 FEET SOUTH OF 17TH STREET TO BROADWAY. WHEREAS, Section 3448 (b) of the Municipal Code of the City of Costa Mesa provides that the City Council may by resolution designate certain streets and portions of streets as "No Parking Areas;" and WHEREAS, the State Division of Highways requires a parking restriction between Broadway and a point 300 feet south of 17th Street for the proposed road- way and signal project between Industrial Way and 19th Street; and WHEREAS, this Council deems this restriction of parking necessary and in the best interest of expediting the flow of traffic through the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa that parking be, and it is hereby prohibited at all times on the west side of Newport Boulevard from Broadway to a point 300 feet south of 17th Street; and BE IT FURTER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a certified copy of this Resolution to the Division of Highways, District VII, at Los Angeles.
