RESOLUTION N0. 66-88
A RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION BY THE CITY OF COSTA MESA,
ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, TO THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION
COMMSSION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
(a) That the Local Agency Formation Commission did on the 15th day of
June, 1966, present the legal description of the proposed annexation Paularino
#12 to the County Surveyor for checking and the same having been found reason-
ably definite and certain, and
(b) That the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby find
and determine:
1. That the property proposed to be annexed to the City of Costa Mesa
is uninhabited, is contiguous to the boundaries of the City of Costa Mesa.
2. That the territory to be annexed is designated as Paularino No. 12
and the legal description of the property is as follows:
"A parcel of land lying within Lots 141 and 142, Block 6 and Lot 149,
Block 5 of Irvine's Subdivision, as shown on a map thereof, recorded
in book 1, page 88 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County,
California, and a portion of Lot 4, Tract No. 456, as shown on a map
thereof, recorded in book 17, page 9 of Miscellaneous Maps, records
of Orange County, California, in the County of Orange, State of Cal-
ifornia, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at an angle point in the existing boundary of the City of

Costa Mesa as said boundary is described in the Paularino No. 10

Annexation to the City of Costa Mesa, Ordinance No. 65-39, adopted
November 15, 1965, said angle point being the intersection of the
Southerly line of Tract No. 5935, as shown on a map thereof, recorded
in book 219, pages 3 and 4 of Miscellaneous Naps, records of Orange
County, California, with the center line of Red Hill Avenue, 100.00
feet in width, as granted to the County of Orange by deed, recorded
in book 7148, page 205 of Official Records, said angle point also
being in a curve, concave Southeasterly, having a radius of 1200.00
feet at which a radial line of said curve bears North 780 29' 47"
West; thence North 780 29' 47" West, along said existing boundary,
630.01 feet; thence North 640 44' 43" West, 1048.91 feet to the South-
easterly line of Newport Avenue, 60 feet in width, as granted to the
County of Orange by deed, recorded in book 250, page 73 of Book of
Deeds; thence South 400 37' 49" West, along said Southeasterly line and
the existing boundary as described in the Paularino No. 4 Annexation
to the City of Costa Mesa, Ordinance No. 355, adopted April 17, 1961,
the Bristol No. 1 Annexation to said City, Ordinance No. 144, adopted
October 22, 1956 and the Baker Street No. 1 Annexation to said City,
Ordinance No. 87, adopted May 2, 1955, a distance of 1973.20 feet to
the center line of Palisades Road, 60 feet in width, as shown on a
map of said Tract No. 456; thence departing from said existing boun-
dary and said Southeasterly line, South 3g0 24' 26" East, along said
center line, 517.96 feet; thence South 41 54' 25" East along said
center line and the Southeasterly prolongation thereof, 761.97 feet
to a point in the Southeasterly line of Lot 4 of said Tract No. 456;
thence South 110 21' 26" East, along said Southeasterly line of Lot 4
of said Tract No. 456, a distance of 195.64 feet to "Station 12" as
shown on said Tract No. 456; thence South 720 33' 34" West, along the
Southeasterly line of Lot 3 of said Tract No. 456, a distance of
426.00 feet to "Station 13"; thence South 370 26' 26" East, along the
Easterly line of Lot 1 of said Tract No. 456, a distance of 422.00
feet to "Station 14"; thence South 400 09' 26" East, along said East-
erly line, 593.00 feet to the center line of Santa Ana Avenue, 60 feet
in width, as shown on said Tract No. 456; thence North 400 38' 32"
East, along the Northeasterly prolongation of said Santa Ana Avenue,

547.28 feet to the center line of Palisades Road, 60 feet in width,
granted to the County of Orange by deed, recorded in book 294, page
271 of Book of Deeds; thence North 400 38' 32" East along the center
line of previously mentioned Red Hill Avenue, 1300.10 feet to the
beginning of a tangent curve, concave Northwesterly, having a radius
of 1200.00 feet; thence Northeasterly and Northerly along said curve
through a central a,%le of 440 56' 03��, an are distance of 496.25
feet; thence North 17' 31" West, 709.07 feet to the beginning of
a tangent curve, concave Southeasterly, having a radius of 1200.00
feet; thence NortherlK and Northeasterly along said curve through
a central angle of 15 47' 44", an are distance of 330.83 feet to
the point of beginning."
3. That the reason for the proposed annexation is that the terri-
tory is ready for development and that City services are necessary for the
protection of health, safety and welfare of the developers and that the City
of Costa Mesa is the agency most feasible to provide said facilities to said
area.
4. That there are no special terms or conditions to the proposed
annexation.
5. That the agencies effected by said annexation, to the best of
applicants' knowledge, are as follows:
County Sanitary District No. 7
Orange County Flood Control District
Harbor District
Mosquito Abatement District
County Library District
Metropolitan Water District
Santa Ana School District
6. That attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution as
Exhibit "A" is a map of the territory proposed to be annexed.
7. That all notices with respect to hearings should be mailed to
the following persons:

Roy E. June, City Attorney, 1500 Adams St., Suite 206, Costa Mesa
Don Southworth, City of Costa Mesa Engineer, 116 East 18th Street,
Costa Mesa
