HomeMy WebLinkAbout66-102 - Recommending changes in Bus Routes of South Coast Transit Corporationn RESOLUTION N0. 66-102 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA RECO*MDING CERTAIN PROPOSED CHANGES IN BUS ROUTES OF THE SOUTH COAST TRANSIT CORPORATION IN THE CITY OF COSTA MESA. WHEREAS, the South Coast Transit Corporation operates certain bus routes through and in the City of Costa Mesa, and proposes and submits certain changes in these bus routes; and WHEREAS, this City Council has considered said proposed changes, and has found and determined that said changes will provide more convenient and improved bus transportation facilities within the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa that the following proposed changes in bus routes of the South Coast Transit Corporation, as hereinafter more particularly set forth, are hereby recommended for approval by the Public Utilities Commission of the State of California: CHANGE NO. 1 - Newport Beach Run Southbound on South Main Street, Santa Ana, to Sunflower Avenue, westerly on Sunflower Avenue to Bristol Street, southerly on Bristol Street via the South Coast Plaza to Newport Boulevard and Newport Beach. Returning, the route would follow the same pattern: Northerly on Newport Boulevard to Bristol Street, northerly on Bristol Street via the South Coast Plaza to Sunflower Avenue, easterly on Sunflower Avenue to South Main Street, Santa Ana. CHANGE NO. 2 - Laguna Beach Run Southbound on Fairview Road to Fair Drive, westerly on Fair Drive to Harbor Boulevard and southerly on Harbor Boulevard to Newport Boulevard; instead of the former route which was southerly on Fairview Road to Wilson Street, westerly on Wilson Street to Harbor Boulevard, and southerly on Harbor Boulevard to Newport Boulevard. Returning, the route would be northerly on Harbor Boulevard to Fair Drive, easterly on Fair Drive to Fairview Road, and northerly on Fairview Road. CHANGE NO. 3 - Laguna Beach Run Southerly on Newport Boulevard to East 17th Street and easterly on East 17th Street to the City Limits. Returning, westerly on East 17th Street to Newport Boulevard and northerly on Newport Boulevard. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of November, 1966.
