A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA
COMMENDING MISS PLUMA LYNN HILGREN FOR HER ACHIEVEMENT IN
BEING CHOSEN AS THE BEST GIRL COOK IN THE UNITED STATES.
WHEREAS, Miss Pluma Lynn Hilgren, daughter of Mrs. Lois Hilgren of
362 Costa Mesa Street, has been chosen as the best girl cook in the United States
at the 22nd Annual Conference of the Girls' Clubs of America in New York; and
WHEREAS, Miss Hilgren, at the age of 13 years, has devised a recipe for
bran -apple muffins that has won national acclaim for her; and
WHEREAS, she has distinguished herself as an active member of the Girls'
Club of the Harbor Area, and brought honor to both her Club and her City by her
achievement; and
WHEREAS, this Council deems it proper and fitting that such initiative and
accomplishment be formally recognized;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Costa
Mesa, that Miss Plumes Lynn Hilgren be, and she is hereby, publicly commended for
her achievement in winning acclaim as the best girl cook in the United States,
and thereby bringing honor to her City; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk of the City of Costa Mesa is
hereby directed to enter this Resolution in the permanent records of the City,
and to transmit a certified copy thereof to Miss Hil,,ren.
PASSED AND ADOPTED, this 17th day of April, 1967.
