HomeMy WebLinkAbout67-28 - Bissell No. 2 Annexation - to Recreation & Park DistrictRESOLUTION N0. 67-28 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, ACTING AS THE SUPERVISING AUTHORITY OF THE COSTA MESA RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT, ANNEXING TERRITORY TO SAID DISTRICT. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California, does hereby resolve and determine as follows: WHEREAS, a hearing was held on the 6th day of March, 1967, and closed on said day, to consider a proposed annexation to the Costa Mesa Recreation and Park District; and WHEREAS, notice of said hearing was given by publication in the ORANGE COAST DAILY PILOT, a newspaper of general circulation circulated in the area proposed to be annexed, and no one appeared to protest said annexation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this City Council finds that it is to the benefit of the Costa Mesa Recreation and Park District and to the territory hereinafter described that said territory be annexed to the Costa Mesa Recreation and Park District. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the hereinabove described property be, and it is hereby ordered annexed to the Costa Mesa Recreation and Park District: A parcel of land lying in Lot 228 of Newport Heights, as shown on a map thereof, recorded in Book 4, page 83 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California, more particularly described as follows: Leginning at an angle point in the existing boundary of the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District as said boundary is described in Resolution No. 59-650, adopted June 3, 1959 and the Withdrawal, Resolution No. 61-131.3, adopted December 20, 1961 by the Board of Supervisors of said Orange County, said point being the intersection of the southeasterly line of Irvine Avenue, 60 feet in width as shown on a map of said Newport Heights with the southeasterly prolongation of a line 140.09 feet southwesterly of and parallel with the northeasterly line of said Lot 228; thence North 500 00' 00" 'lest along, said existing boundary, said southeasterly prolong- ation and parallel line, 190.00 feet; thence North 400 00' 00" East, 19.94 feet; thence departing from said existing boundary South 50 00' 00" East, along a line 120.15 feet southwesterly of and parallel with the northeasterly line of said Lot 228, a distance of 190.00 feet to the southeasterly lire of said Irvine Avenue; thence South 40° 00' 00" 'West along said southeasterly line of Irvine Avenue, 1.9.94 feet to the point of beginning. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the hereinabove described annexation to the Costa Mesa Recreation and Park District shall be and become effective concurrently with the Bissell No. 2 Annexation to the City of Costa Mesa.
