HomeMy WebLinkAbout68-101 - Intent to Order Vacation - Portions of Sparks Street & Westminster AvenueRESOLUTION NO. 68-101 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE VACATION OF PORTIONS OF SPARKS STREET AND WESTMINSTER AVENUE AT THE MESA SHOPPING CENTER IN THE CITY OF COSTA MESA. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby resolve as follows: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby declare its intention to vacate that certain right of way described as follows: PARCEL 1 That portion of Sparkes Street as shown on a map of Tract No. 590, recorded in Book 31, page 36, of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California, lying southeasterly of a line parallel with and 460 feet southeasterly, measured along the northeasterly line of Lot 73, from the center line of Orange Avenue, 60 feet wide, as shown on a map of Newport Heights recorded in Book 4, page 83, of Miscellaneous Maps of Orange County. PARCEL 2 That portion of Westminster Avenue as shown on said map of Tract No. 590 lying northeasterly of the southeasterly prolongation of the southwesterly line of Lot 1 in said Tract No. 590, excepting therefrom any portion thereof previously vacated by resolution of the City of Costa Mesa, a certified copy of which was recorded December 3, 1958 in Book 4503, page 80, of Official Records of said Orange County. SECTION 2. Monday, the 6th day of January, 1969 at the hour of 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, 77 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation. SECTION 3. These proceedings shall be conducted pursuant to the provisions of Chapter III, Part 3, Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California. SECTION 4. The City Manager of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby directed to cause notices of said proposed vacation to be conspicuously posted along said strip of land for at least ten (10) days before the date of said hearing. Said notices shall be posted not more than three hundred (300) feet apart, but in no event shall less than three (3) notices be posted. SECTION 5• This Resolution shall be published once in the ORANGE COAST DAILY PILOT, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa, Orange County, California.
