A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COSTA MESA RESTRICTING PARKING ON WILSON STREET
FROM POMONA AVENUE TO FEDERAL AVENUE AND ESTABLISHING
CERTAIN PARKING RESTRICTIONS IN THE NEWPORT BOULEVARD
AREA BETWEEN EAST 17TH STREET AND EAST 19TH STREET
WHEREAS, the Traffic Commission of the City of Costa Mesa has recommended
that parking on Wilson Street, from Pomona Avenue to Federal Avenue, be
prohibited between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., excepting Sundays
and holidays; and
WHEREAS, the Traffic Commission has further recommended that certain
time -limit parking restrictions be established on certain portions of
streets in the Newport Boulevard area between East 17th Street and East
19th Street, including side streets, all as hereinafter particularly set
forth; and
WHEREAS, this Council deems these parking restrictions to be in the
best interest of expediting the flow of traffic within the City;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of
Costa Mesa, pursuant to the provisions of Section 3410.3 of the Municipal
Code, as follows:
SECTION 1. Parking is hereby prohibited on both sides of Wilson Street,
between Pomona Avenue and Federal Avenue, between the hours of 6:00 A.M.
and 6:00 P.M. excepting Sundays and holidays.
SECTION 2. The existing one-hour parking restriction between 7:00 a.m.
and 6:00 p.m., except Sundays and Holidays, on Newport Boulevard from East
17th to East 19th Street, on the north side of Rochester Street from 320
feet to 500 feet east of Newport Boulevard; on East 18th Street and
Broadway between Newport Boulevard and Fullerton Avenue, and on Harbor
Boulevard between Center Street and West 19th Street, is hereby rescinded
and replaced by the following time -limit parking restrictions:
ONE-HOUR PARKING - 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. except Sundays and Holidays:
On the east side of the frontage road from Harbor Boulevard to
290 feet north of the centerline of West 18th Street.
On the west side of the frontage road from West 18th Street to 180
feet south of the centerline of West 18th Street.
On the east side of Newport Boulevard from Rochester Street to
Harbor Boulevard.
On the north side of Rochester street from 320 feet to 500 feet east
of Newport Boulevard.
On the north side of East 18th Street from Newport Boulevard to
400 feet east of the centerline of Newport Boulevard.
On the south side of East 18th Street from Newport Boulevard to 350
feet east of the centerline of Newport Boulevard.
TWO-HOUR PARKING - 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. except Sundays and holidays
On the west side of the frontage road from 200 feet to 420 feet south
of West 18th Street.
On the east side of Newport Boulevard from Harbor Boulevard to 80 feet
north of the centerline of Flower Street.
On the north side of Broadway from Newport Boulevard to 380 feet
east of the centerline of Newport Boulevard.
On the south side of Broadway from Newport Boulevard to Fullerton
Avenue.
On Harbor Boulevard from Center Street to West 19th Street.
UNRESTRICTED PARKING:
On the east side of the frontage road from 290 feet north of the
centerline of West 18th Street to 650 feet south of West 18th Street.
On the west side of the frontage road from 320 feet to 620 feet south
of West 18th Street.
On the east side of Newport Boulevard from Flower Street to East 19th
Street.
