Home My WebLink About69-42 - Country Club North Annexation - Application to LAFC for Park DistrictRESOLUTION 69-42 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COSTA MESA PARK AND RECREATION DISTRICT, ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, TO THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COSTA MESA PARK AND RECREATION DISTRICT, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: (a) That the Local Agency Formation Commission did on the 28th day of May, 1969, present the legal description of the proposed annexation Country Club North Annexation to the County Surveyor for checking and the same having been found reasonably definite and certain: and (b) That the Board of Directors of the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District does hereby find and determine: 1. That the property proposed to be annexed to the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District is uninhabited, is contiguous to the boundaries of the City of Costa Mesa. That the territory to be annexed is designated as Country Club North Annexation and the legal description of the property is as follows: A parcel of land lying within Lot 1 and Lot 2 of Tract No. 456, as shown on a map, recorded in book 17, page 9 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at an angle point in the existing boundary of the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District, as said boundary is described in Resolution Number 66-125 Adopted December 19, 1966, said angle point being the intersection of the southeasterly line of Newport Avenue, 60 feet in width, as granted to the County of Orange, by deed, recorded in book 250, page 73 of Book of Deeds with the centerline of Palisades Road, as shown on said Tract No. 456; thence South 360 14' 15" East, along said boundary and the centerline of said Palisades Road as described in a deed to said County, recorded in book 294, page 272 of Official Records of said county, 309.09 feet, to an intersection with the northeasterly prlongation of the southeasterly line of said Lot 2; thence departing from said boundary South 390 48' 45" West, along said northeasterly prolongation and said southeasterly line, 380.20 feet, to the most southerly corner of said Lot 2; thence South 340 27' 10" East, along the north- easterly line of said Lot 1, a distance of 805.14 feet, to an angle point in the existing boundary of the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District, as described in Country Club No. 2 Annexation to said District, Resolution No. 68-58, adopted January 6, 1969; thence continuing along said northeasterly line, South 340 27' 10" East, along said existing boundary, 505.16 feet; thence departing from said existing boundary, North 620 30' 50" West, 532.48 feet; thence North 340 32' 10" West, 748.53 feet; thence North 450 57'30" West, 163.60 feet, to a point on a line parallel with, measured at right angles, and 157.50 feet southeasterly of the previously mentioned southeasterly line of said Newport Avenue: thence North 500 11' 15" West, 157.50 feet, to said southeasterly line and the existing boundary of the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District, as described in an annexation to said District, Resolution No. 61-1144, adopted November 8, 1961, by the Board of Supervisors of said Orange County: thence North 390 48' 45" East, along said southeasterly line and said existing boundary, 609.60 feet, to the point of beginning. 3. That the reason for the proposed annexation is that the territory is ready for development and that parks and recreation services are necessary for the protection of health, safety and welfare of the developers and that the City of Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District is the agency most feasible to provide said facilities to said area. 4. That there are no special terms or conditions to the proposed annexation. 5. That the agencies affected by said annexation to the best of applicant's knowledge are as follows: County Sanitary District No. 7 Orange County Flood Control District Harbor District Mosquito Abatement District County Library District Metropolitan Water District Santa Ana School District 6. That attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution is Exhibit "A" is a map of the territory proposed to be annexed. 7. That all notices with respect to hearings should be mailed to the following persons: A. R. McKenzie, City Manager, 77 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, California. Roy E. June, City Attorney, 1500 Adams Avenue, Suite 206, Costa Mesa, California. Don Stevens, City of Costa Mesa Engineer, 116 East 18th Street, Costa Mesa, California.
