A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA,
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING AND ORDERING CERTAIN TERRITORY ANNEXED
TO THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, WITHOUT HEARING OR
ELECTION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange County, California,
did on the 25th day of February, 1970, approve the annexation of certain territory
described as Sewell Annexation, to the City of Costa Mesa, after application
having been made for said annexation by the City of Costa Mesa and accompanied
by written consent of 100 percent of the land owners within the territory.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California,
finds and determines as follows:
(a) That the territory proposed to be annexed is uninhabited and that no
written protests have been filed and that the written protests filed and not
withdrawn represent less than ten percent of the number of land owners in the
territory proposed to be annexed, owning not more than ten percent of the assessed
value of land therein.
(b) That the proposed annexation will be for the interest of the land
owners and the present and future inhabitants within the territory proposed to
be annexed.
(c) That the City Council has taken into consideration as a factor, in
addition to the factors hereinabove set forth, the Local Agency Formation
Commission's approval of the proposed annexation.
(d) That the territory to be annexed is contiguous to the existing
boundaries of the City of Costa Mesa and is not, nor is any part thereof, included
in any other city of similar purpose.
The City Council has hereby ordered the annexation of Sewell in accordance
with Resolution No. 70-38 of the Local Agency Formation Commission.
That the exterior boundaries of the territory annexed are as set forth in
a map and legal description attached hereto marked Exhibit "A" and by this
reference made a part hereof.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of March, 1970.

All that certain land situated in the State of California, County of
Orange, described as follows:
Being a portion of Lot 226 of Newport Heights, as shown on a Map
thereof, Recorded in Book 4, page 83 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange
County, California, more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the centerline intersection of Tustin Avenue and Twentieth
Street, as shown on said map of Newport Heights; thence along said centerline of
Tustin Avenue, North 40° East, 330.15 feet to the Southeasterly prolongation of
the Southwesterly line of said hot 226; thence along said Sout1heanter]y prolonga-
tion, North 500 Weet, 30.00 feet to the most Southerly corner of said Lot 226,
said point being also in the Northwesterly line of said Tustin Avenue, and said
point being also in the existing boundary line of the city of Costa Mesa, as
described in theilnderwood Annexation to said city of Costa Mesa, adopted

line parallel with and distant 198.00 feet, as measured at right angles, from the
Northeasterly line of said Yat 226; thence along said parallel line, South 500 East,
315.00 feet to said Northwesterly right-of-way line of Tustin Avenue, said point
being also in said existing boundary line of the city of Costa Mesa; thence along -
said Northwesterly right-of-way line of Tustin Avenue and along said existing
