RESOLUTION NO. 70-63
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA,
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING AND ORDERING CERTAIN TERRITORY ANNEXED
TO THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, KNOWN AS "WILLIAMS
ANNEXATION" WITHOUT HEARING OR ELECTION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the local Agency Formation Commission of Orange County,
California, did on the 10th day of June, 1970, approve the annexation
of certain territory described as Williams Annexation to the City of
Costa Mesa, after application having been made for said annexation by the
City of Costa Mesa and accompanied by the written consent of 100 percent
of the land owners within the territory.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California,
finds and determines as follows:
(a) That the territory proposed to be annexed is uninhabited and that
no written protests have been filed and that the written protests filed and
not withdrawn represent less than ten percent of the number of land owners
in the territory proposed to be annexed, owning not more than ten percent
of the assessed value of land therein.
(b) That the proposed annexation will be for the interest of the
land owners and the present and future inhabitants within the territory
proposed to be annexed.
(c) That the City Council has taken into consideration as a factor,
in addition to the factors hereinabove set forth, the Local Agency
Formation Commission's approval of the proposed annexation.
(d) That the territory proposed to be annexed is contiguous to the
existing boundaries of the City of Costa Mesa and is not, nor is any
part thereof, included in any other city or similar purpose.
The City Council has hereby ordered the annexation of Williams
Annexation in accordance with Section 56320 and 56322, inclusive of the
Government Code of the State of California.
That the exterior boundaries of the territory annexed are set forth
in a map and legal description attached hereto marked Exhibit "A" and by
this reference made a part hereof.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 29th day of June, 1970.

WILLIAMS ANNEXATION
TO THE CITY Or COSTA MESA
A portion of Lot 91, Tract No. 653, in the County of Orange, State
of California, as per map recorded in book 19, page 42 of Miscellaneous
Maps, in the office of the county recorder of said county, more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at an angle point in the existing boundary of the City
of Costa Mesa as said boundary is described in Republic No. 2 Annexation
to said City, Ordinance No. 43, adopted April 26, 1954, said angle point
being the intersection of the center line of Canyon Drive, 60 feet in
width, with the center line of Victoria Street, 60 feet in width, ac
said intersection is shown on said Tract No. 653; thence South 00 32'
00" East, along said existing boundary and said center line of Canyon
Drive, 30.00 feet to the southerly line of said Victoria Street; thence,
South 890 28' 00" West, along, said southerly line and the existing boundary
of the City of Costa Mesa as described in Victoria Street Annexation to
said City, Ordinance 65-34, adopted October 49 1965, a distance of
204,46 feet; thence departing from said existing boundary North 00 32t
00" West, 215.69 feet to the northerly line of said Lot 91, said northerly
line being the northwesterly prolongation of a radial line of a curve,
concave southeasterly, having a radius of 797,44 feet; thence South 800
02' 00" East, along said northerly line and said northwesterly prolongation
221.52 feet to a point on said curve, said curve being the center line
of said Canyon Drive; thence southerly along said center line and said
curve through a central angle of 100 30' 00", an arc distance of 146,14
feet to the Point of Beginning.

A portion of Lots 225, 226, 235 and 236 of Newport Heights as shown on
a map thereof, recorded in book 4, page 83 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of
Orange County, California, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the center lines of 20th Street and
Tustin Avenue as shown on said map of Newport Heights; thence North 400 East,
along said center line of Tustin Avenue, 330.15 feet to the southeasterly
prolongation of the southwesterly line of said Lot 226; thence North 500, West
along said southeasterly prolongation and the southwesterly line of said Lot
226, 345.00 feet to the true point of beginning, of the land herein described;
thence continuing North 50° West, along said southwesterly line of said
