HomeMy WebLinkAbout70-04 - Welcoming Women Peace Officersb RESOLUTION NO. 70-4 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, WELCOMING THE WOMEN PEACE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION OF CALIFORNIA AND COMMENDING THEM FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTION TO HIGH POLICE STANDARDS. WHEREAS, the Costa Mesa Police Department will be host to the Women Peace Officers Association of California on Saturday, January 17th, 1970, for a training session, luncheon and business meeting; and WHEREAS, the Association, from its founding in 1928, has been ded- icated to the maintenance of the highest ethical standards in personal as well as official conduct; and WHEREAS, the 325 active members of the association have prepared themselves for professional status through education and training, and have kept pace with current theories and techniques to better serve the public; and WHEREAS, our women peace officers have done much to merit the con- fidence and respect of the people of California; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, that the Women Peace Officers Association of California is hereby warmly welcomed to our City; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Council hereby formally commends the women peace officers for their dedicated public service and high standards of police work; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby directed to enter this Resolution in the permanent records of the City and transmit a certified copy thereof to the Association.
