RESOLUTION NO. 70-57
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA,
CALIFORNIA, MAKING APPLICATION TO THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION
COMMISSION OF ORANGE COUNTY, FOR THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY
KNOWN AS CORRIDOR NO. 1 ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF COSTA MESA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HERESY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California,
desires to initiate proceedings for the annexation of the hereinafter
described territory to said city;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California,
does hereby resolve, determine and order as follows:
1. That this application is being filed pursuant to the provisions
of Divisions of Division 1 of Title 6 of the Government Code of the State
of California for the purpose of proposing an annexation of the below
described territory to the City of Costa Mesa.
2. That the territory proposed to be annexed contains 9.63 acres and
is contiguous in four places to the City of Costa Mesa and the territory
proposed to be included in and annexed to said City is specifically
described in Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto and made a part hereof
consisting of two typewritten sheets and a map.
3. That a map showing said boundaries together with a copy of the
above legal description has heretofore been filed with the Orange County
Surveyor and with the Commission and has been found to be definite and
certain by the Orange County Surveyor. Said map is hereby referred to,
and by reference made a part hereof, to the same force and effect as if
set out herein or attached hereto.
4. That the territory proposed to be annexed is uninhabited.
5. That the reason for the proposed annexation is that the
territory is ready for development and that City services are necessary for
the protection of health, safety and welfare of the developers and that
the City of Costa Mesa is the agency most feasible to provide said facilities
to said area.
6. That the territory proposed to be annexed is entirely located
within the County of Orange, California.
7. That the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa respectfully
requests the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange County, California,
to institute proceedings for the annexation of the above-described
territory to said city.
8. That it is further requested that the said Local Agency Formation
Commission order pursuant to the provisions of Section 56261 of the
Government Code of California, that this annexation be approved without
notice and hearing by the Commission and approve and authorize the City
Council of the City of Costa Mesa to annex such territory without notice
and hearing by the City Council and without an election.
9. That attached hereto is evidence of consent and request directed
to the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa signed by all of the owners
of the land within such territory proposed to be annexed.

10. That the owners who signed said attached consent and request
are hereby found to be the owners of 100 percent of the land described
above.
11. That the proposed terms and conditions to which the proposed
annexation is desired to be subject are described as follows:
That all annexation fees be paid to the City prior to this
annexation becoming effective.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of June, 1970.

DESCRIPTION
CORRIDOR NO. 1. ANNEXATION
TO THE CITY OF COSTA MESA
A portion of Lots 225, 226, 235 and 236 of Newport Heights as shown on
a map thereof, recorded in book 4, page 93 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of
Orange County, California, more particularly described as follows;
Beginning at the intersection of the center lines of 20th Street and
Tustin Avenue as shown on said map of Newport Heights; thence North 400 East,
along said center line of Tustin Avenue, 330.15 feet to the southeasterly
prolongation of the southwesterly line ofsaid Lot 226; thence North SO- West,
along said southeasterly prolongation and the southwesterly line of said
Lot 226, 345.00 feet to an angle point in the existing boundary of the City
of Costa Mesa, as said boundary is described in the Sewell Annexation to the
City of Costa Mesa, adopted March 16, 1970 by Resolution No. 70-30, said angle
point being the true point of beginning of the land herein described; thence
departing from the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa and continuing
North 500 West, along said southwesterly line of said Lot 226, 161.00 feet
to an angle point in the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa, as
described in Woodland No. 1 Annexation to said City, adopted .January 6, 1964
by Ordinance No. 63-54; thence continuing North 500 West along said southwesterly
line of Lot 226, the southwesterly line of Lot 225 and the existing boundary
of the City of Costa Mesa as described in said Woodland No. 1 Annexation to
said City, 276.00 feet; thence departing from the existing boundary of the
City of Costa Mesa and continuing North 50" West along the southwesterly line
of said Lot 225, 308.00 feet; thence North 40- East, parallel with the southeast
line of said Lot 225, 330.15 feet to a point in the northeasterly line of said
Lot 225, said point being in the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa as
described in the Twitchell No. 1 Annexation to said City, adopted December 18,
1961, by Ordinance No. 423; thence South 50o East, along said existing boundary
and the northeast line of said Lot 225, 198.00 feet; thence North 40- East,
parallel with the northwesterly line of said Lot 235, 330.15 feet, to a point
in the northeasterly line of said Lot 235; thence South 50o East departing
from the existing boundary of said City of Costa Mesa along said northeasterly
line of Lot 235 and the northeasterly line of Lot 236, 252.00 feet to an angle
point in the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa, as described in
Woodland No. 2 Annexation to said City, adopted May 17, 1964, by Ordinance
No. 64_21; thence continuing, South 50o East along said northeasterly line of
Lot 236 and said existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa, 175.01 feet to
the center line of Garden Lane, said center line being a curve, concave
easterly, having a radius of 45.00 feet; thence, departing from the existing

boundary of the City of Costa Mesa, southerly along said center line curve
through a central angle of 11" 56' 46", an arc distance of 9,38 feet; thence
South 60 00' 20" Cast along said center line, 122.41 feet to the beginning of
a tangent curve, concave westerly, having, a radius of 85.00 feet; thence
Southerly along, said center line curve through a central angle of 460 00' 00",
an arc distance of 68.24 feet; thence .South 390 59' 40" West, along said
center line of Garden Lane, 374.99 feet to an angle point in the existing
boundary of the City of Costa Mesa, as said boundary is described in pre-
viously mentioned Sewell Annexation to said City; thence South 400 West,
continuing along said center line of Garden Lane and the existing boundary
of the City of Costa Mesa, 132.15 feet to the True Point of Beginning.
