Home My WebLink About70-98 - Sunflower No. 4 Annexation and Conceeding Jurisdiction to County to Conduct Proceedings1618 RESOLUTION NO. 70-98 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING APPROVAL OF THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION TO THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY IN THE CITY OF COSTA MESA AND CONCEDING JURISDICTION TO THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO CONDUCT PROCEEDINGS THEREFOR. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: THAT WHEREAS, certain portions of Sunflower Avenue within the County of Orange are now contiguous on the south with the City of Costa Mesa and contiguous on the north to the City of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, in keeping with practices of good planning, development, maintenance, and upkeep of public streets, it is desirous that said Sun- flower Avenue be annexed to and become a part of a city territory; and WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa desires to annex said property to its geographic territory; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Costa Mesa request the approval of the Local Agency Formation Commission for the annexation to its corporate limits of certain property, attached to this resolution, marked Exhibit "A" and by this specific reference made a part hereof; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the map attached to this resolution platting and setting forth the territory to be annexed be attached to the resolution marked Exhibit "B" and by this specific reference made a part hereof; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said territory to be annexed constitutes a public right-of-way and does not include private property as part of its total description; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Costa Mesa concedes juris- diction to the County of Orange as the conducting body for the purpose of completing said annexation; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that no other public entity other than the City of Santa Ana is involved or has an interest in said annexation other than utilities having easements within said territory; BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Local Agency Formation Commission be requested to notify the City Clerk, City Attorney and Director of Public Works of the daily completion of said annexation.
