HomeMy WebLinkAbout71-25 - Ordering Vacation of Southwest Corner of Harbor and Ponderosa2110 RESOLUTION NO. 71-25 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE VACATION OF RIGHT OF WAY AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF HARBOR BOULEVARD AND PONDEROSA STREET. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa did on the 1st day of March, 1971, pass and adopt Resolution No. 71-14, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE VACATION OF RIGHT OF WAY AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF HARBOR BOULEVARD AND PONDEROSA STREET; and WHEREAS, pursuant to said Resolution of Intention the time and place for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation was set for Monday, the 5th day of April, 1971, at the hour of 7:30 p.m., in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, 77 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, California; and WHEREAS, notices of said proposed vacation were duly and regularly posted as required by law, all pursuant to the provisions of Division 9, Part 3, Chapter 2 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California; and WHEREAS, said date of hearing coming on regularly to be heard, all persons appearing on the proposed vacation were heard, and said hearing was closed on the 5th day of April, 1971; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa finds and determines, from all the evidence submitted, that the hereinafter described right of way is unnecessary for present or prospective street purposes; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the hereinafter described right of way is unnecessary for present or prospective street purposes. 2. It is hereby ordered that the following described right of way be, and the same is hereby vacated: Beginning at a point at the intersection of the centerlines of Harbor Boulevard 120.00 feet wide and Ponderosa Street 60.00 feet; thence westerly along the centerline of Ponderosa Street, a distance of 80.00 feet; thence southerly parallel with the centerline of Harbor Boulevard a distance of 30.00 feet to a point on the southerly line of Ponderosa Street, said point being the true point of beginning; thence along a line running southeasterly to a point on the westerly line of Harbor Boulevard said point being 50.00 feet from the centerline of Ponderosa Street; thence northerly along said westerly line a distance of 3.00 feet to the beginning of a curved line having a radius of 17.00 feet concave southwesterly; thence along said curved line to a point on the southerly line of Ponderosa Street said point being 77.00 feet westerly from the centerline of Harbor Boulevard; thence westerly along said southerly line to a distance of 3.00 feet to the true point of beginning. Said described land to become a part of Lot 5, Block F of Fairview as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 2, pages 94 and 95 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Los Angeles County.
