THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: THAT WHEREAS, this City has since 1964 cooperated actively with the Board of Supervisors in attempting to assist it in the location of a new Municipal Court Site for the Orange County Harbor Judicial District; and WHEREAS, because of the defeat suffered by the City of Newport Beach in the recent bond election, an unnecessary delay will follow in the develop- ment of a court site, selected by the Board of Supervisors within the City of Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, this unnecessary delay may result in the reopening of studies for the selection of a court site within the Orange County Harbor Judicial District, other than the site originally selected by the Board of Supervisors; and WHEREAS, these unnecessary delays in selecting a site and the construc- tion of facilities will further increase the problems apparent in an already over -crowded court; and WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa is not fully informed as to the inten- tions or the present plans of the Board of Supervisors as they affect the Court Site; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows: THAT any reconsideration of the court site for the Municipal Court of the Orange County Harbor Judicial District be undertaken with the Decentrali- zation Committee's recommendations. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that any consideration of another court site, also include decentralized facilities for other County offices such as the Probation Department, Welfare Department, Building Department, Libraries, and other County agencies serving the people of the Harbor Area. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that such further studies, if they are to be undertaken, be commenced immediately and conducted as speedily as reasonably possible, so that this badly needed facility can be constructed and put into operation at the earliest possible date. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Costa Mesa be advised of the plans and intentions of the Board of Supervisors at an early date. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to each member of the Board of Supervisors and to whomever the Council may direct.
