A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA,
CALIFORNIA, CONCURRING WITH THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF
SUPERVISOR'S RESOLUTION NO. 70-724 DATED JUNE 30, 1970,
ESTABLISHING THOSE PORTIONS OF SANTA ANA AVENUE AND RED HILL
AVENUE BETWEEN MESA DRIVE AND 1300 FEET NORTH OF PALISADES
ROAD, LYING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF COSTA MESA TO BE A ^'
COUNTY HIGHWAY DURING THE PERIOD OF IMPROVEMENT BY THE COUNTY
OF ORANGE, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 1701, ARTICLE
3, CHAPTER 9, DIVISION 2 OF THE STREETS AND HIGHWAY CODE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
THAT, WHEREAS, that portion of Santa Ana Avenue and Red Hill Avenue
between Mesa Drive and 1300 feet north of Palisades Road lying within the
City limits of Costa Mesa is deemed to be a highway of County -wide importance;
and
WHEREAS, the County of Orange proposes to improve said portion of
Santa Ana Avenue and Red Hill Avenue; and
WHEREAS, by Board of Supervisors Resolution No. 70-724 dated June 30,
1970, the County has declared said portion of Santa Ana Avenue and Red Hill
Avenue to be a County Highway during the period of improvement of said road
by County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa concurs with said improvement of
Santa Ana Avenue and Red Hill Avenue, by County and desires to consent to
the establishment of said portions of Santa Ana Avenue and Red Hill Avenue
as a County Highway during the period of said improvement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that pursuant to the provisions of
Section 1701, Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways
Code, the City of Costa Mesa does concur with the Orange County Board of
Supervisors Resolution No. 70-724 dated June 30, 1970, establishing those
portions of Santa Ana Avenue and Red Hill Avenue between Mesa Drive and 1300
feet north of Palisades Road, lying within the City limits of Costa Mesa to
be a County Highway during the period of improvement by the County of Orange.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to transmit to the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange a
certified copy of this Resolution.
