HomeMy WebLinkAbout72-73 - Creating Leisure Services Fund - Approving Joint Powers AgreementRESOLUTION NO. 72-73 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF COSTA MESA AND THE COSTA MESA PARK AND RECREATION DISTRICT, AND CREATING THE LEISURE SERVICES FUND. THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: THAT, WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa is a general law city, duly incorporated and existing under the laws of the State of California; and WHEREAS, the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District is an entity formed pursuant to Section 5780 through and including 5788.13 Public Resources Code; and WHEREAS, the boundaries of the City and District are contiguous, all park facilities of either City or District lying within the City boundaries of the City of Costa Mesa and the Park and Recreation District; and WHEREAS, in the interest of the economic and convenient operation of the Park and Recreation program within the City of Costa Mesa, it is necessary for the District and the City to enter into a Joint Powers Agreement, pursuant to Division V, Chapter 4, Article 1, Public Resources Code and Division VII, Chapter 5 of the Government Code; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of said Agreement it is necessary to create the leisure services fund on the accounting records of the .v City of Costa Mesa. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Joint Powers Agreement between the City of Costa Mesa and the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District be and the same is hereby approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute said agreement on behalf of the City and as Chairman of the Supervising authority for the Park and Recreation District. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that there is hereby created the leisure services fund on the accounting records of the City of Costa Mesa, in which all funds accumulated, pursuant to said Joint Powers Agreement shall be accounted for. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the original of this Resolution be made a part of the records of the City of Costa Mesa and the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District.
