HomeMy WebLinkAbout73-23 - Adopting changes in Select System of City StreetsRESOLUTION NO. 73-23 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA APPROVING AND ADOPTING CERTAIN CHANGES IN THE SELECT SYSTEM OF CITY STREETS OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA. WHEREAS, a select system of streets for this City has been established in accordance with Sections 186.3 and 186.4 of the Streets and Highways Code; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has submitted to this City Council a report in which are recommended certain additions and deletions to the select system which are warranted by changes brought about by annexations, changes in traffic or land use patterns, or other causes of equal necessity which have occurred since the system was established or last amended; and WHEREAS, this Council finds the recommended select system additions and deletions to be necessary for the expenditure of apportioned Highway Users Tax Funds in the manner and in accordance with the provisions of the Statutes; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa that the Additions or Changes to Select System Streets, set forth in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, are hereby adopted; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby petition the California Department of Public Works to approve said select system additions and deletions together with such modifications as the Department may find to be necessary to conform to statutory require- ments. It will also serve the high density residential area along with Southern California College and any development associated with it. West 19th Street - From Whittier Avenue to City Limits An arterial added by recent annexation. Victoria Street - From Canyon Drive to City Limits An arterial added by recent annexation. Palisades Road - Newport Boulevard to City Limits An arterial added by recent annexation. Airport Loop Drive - Red Hill Avenue to City Limits A collector added by recent annexation. Red Hill Avenue - Palisades to City Limits An arterial added by recent annexation. CHANGES - From Proposed to Constructed Placentia Avenue - From 2600 feet north of Wilson to 1600 feet south of Adams Construction has been completed. Sunflower Avenue - From Fairview Road to 1690 feet east of Fairview Road and from 1270 feet west of Bear Street to Bear Street Construction has been completed. (Not constructed to ultimate width.) San Diego Freeway (SH 405) - From Harbor Boulevard to Bristol Street Construction has been completed. South Coast Drive - From Hyland Avenue to Harbor Boulevard Construction has been completed. (Not constructed to ultimate width.) H and Avenue - From South Coast Drive to Sunflower Avenue Construction has been completed. (Not constructed to ultimate width.) Arlington Drive - From Newport Boulevard to .45 miles east of Fairview Road Construction has been completed. (Not constructed to ultimate width.)
