A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA
MESA COMMENDING CAPTAIN ROBERT MOODY FOR HIS OUTSTAND-
ING RECORD IN COMPLETING A COURSE OF THE 93RD SESSION
OF THE FBI NATIONAL ACADEMY, AND RECOGNIZING HIS VALUED
SERVICES OF THE COSTA MESA POLICE DEPARTMENT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
THAT, WHEREAS, Captain Robert E. Moody became an employee of the
Costa Mesa Police Department on June 10, 1957; and
WHEREAS, thereafter he advanced to the rank of Sergeant on Septem-
ber 1, 1961; the rank of Lieutenant on September 16, 1962, and the rank
of Captain May 15, 1968, which rank he now holds; and
WHEREAS, Captain Robert E. Moody now heads as commander of the
Services Division of the Costa Mesa Police Department; and
WHEREAS, heretofore and in early 1973 Captain Moody requested and
was authorized to attend the 93rd Session of the FBI National Academy in
Washington, D.C., which said academy convened for a 12 -week period and
included law officers from every state, Puerto Rico and foreign countries;
and
WHEREAS, in the curriculum of criminal law, management principles,
behavioral sciences, forensic sciences and educational and communication
arts, Captain Moody obtained a straight "A" grade in all grade courses;
and
WHEREAS, of the 250 students taking the 12 -week course, Captain
Robert E. Moody was one of the top few to obtain such high scholastic
-- standing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Costa Mesa highly commends Captain Robert E. Moody on his fine and
successful record as a Police Officer in the City of Costa Mesa;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Costa
Mesa commends Captain Robert E. Moody for his loyal and dedicated service
to law enforcement on behalf of the citizens of the City of Costa Mesa;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa
that Captain Robert E. Moody be highly commended upon the high scholastic
achievement which he attained in attending the 12 -week course for the 93rd
Session of the FBI National Academy;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution duly executed
by the Mayor and certified by the City Clerk be presented to Captain
Robert E. Moody for his personal files;
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution duly executed
by the Mayor and certified by the City Clerk be made a part of the perma-
nent records of the archives of the City Hall.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 26th day of June, 1973.
