HomeMy WebLinkAbout73-141 - Pledging Cooperation in Energy ConservationRESOLUTION NO. 73-141 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, PLEDGING COOPERATION WITH OTHER LOCAL GOVERN- MENTAL AGENCIES IN THE CONSERVATION OF ENERGY. WHEREAS, the conservation of energy is a matter of grave concern to local, state, and national administrators and legislators; and WHEREAS, citizens are being asked to reduce the use of electricity and gas in their homes and businesses, and to curtail driving because of serious gasoline and diesel shortages; and WHEREAS, it behooves governmental agencies to provide leadership to and set an example for their constituents. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa hereby commits itself and the employees it represents to the conservation of energy in whatever manner practicable, and pledges cooperation with other local governmental agencies in pooling resources in the event of critical shortages which would affect the well-being of citizens.
