HomeMy WebLinkAbout74-01 - Prevailing Rate of Per Diem Wages in Public WorksRESOLUTION NO. 74-1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, FINDING AND DETERMINING THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATE OF PER DIEM WAGES IN THE PERFORMANCE OF PUBLIC WORKS. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa is required to find and determine the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for the construction and performance of public works; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, acting as the supervising authority of the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District, thereby is the designated agency for adopting wage scales for the performance of public works for said District; and WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa, by Joint Powers Agreement, has the management control of the operations of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District, and thereby is the designated agency for adopting wage scales for the performance of public works for said District; and WHEREAS, said general prevailing rates of per diem wages are set forth in a document entitled WAGE SCALES FOR THE SIX BASIC TRADES 1973, and further set forth in a document entitled SUB -TRADES HOURLY WAGE RATES OF BUILDING AND CON- STRUCTION TRADES UNIONS, prepared and submitted by the Building and Construction Trades Council of Orange County, California, said documents being attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof; and WHEREAS, this Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City, and within the requirements of the Labor Code of the State of California, that said wage scales be adopted by reference; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, that said WAGE SCALES FOR THE SIX BASIC TRADES 1973 and SUB -TRADES HOURLY WAGE RATES OF BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION TRADES UNIONS, as prepared by the Building and Construction Trades Council of Orange County, copies of said documents being attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, be, and the same are hereby found and determined to be the general prevailing rates of per diem wages for the performance of public works; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said wage scales are hereby adopted by reference as the general prevailing rates of per diem wages in the performance of public works for the City of Costa Mesa, the Costa Mesa Park and Recreation District, and the Costa Mesa Sanitary District. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of January, 1974.
