HomeMy WebLinkAbout74-50 - Support of Election to Fill Fifth District Seat - Orange County Supervisors!4 RESOLUTION NO. 74-50 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, EXPRESSING ITS SUPPORT OF AN ELEC- TION TO FILL THE VACANT FIFTH DISTRICT SEAT ON THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS. WHEREAS, the recent tragic death of Supervisor Ronald Caspers has created a vacant seat from the Fifth District on the Orange County Board of Supervisors; and WHEREAS, the people of the Fifth District should have the choice of who will represent them and their special problems and goals, separate and apart from political interests, and a special election would insure this freedom of choice; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa that it hereby expresses its support of the electoral process to fill the vacant Fifth District seat on the Orange County Board of Supervisors which presently exists.
