HomeMy WebLinkAbout75-13 - Intention to Annex - Paularino-Bear AnnexationRESOLUTION NO. 75-13 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, RELATING TO PAULARINO-BEAR ANNEXA- TION, GIVING NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ANNEX, AND SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE CONSIDERATION OF WRITTEN PROTESTS AGAINST SAID ANNEXATION, AND OTHERWISE PROVIDING THEREFOR. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS J FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, on the 22nd day of January, 1975, the Local Agency Formation Commission, after due notice and public hearing as required by law, approved the proposed annexation of the City of Costa Mesa, desig- nated as Paularino-Bear Annexation; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 35305, Government Code, not less than one-fourth of the landowners in the territory have signed and filed with the City Clerk petitions requesting said annexation; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to set a date for hearing of written protests, if any, against said annexation; and WHEREAS, Section 35307, Government Code, provides that said hearing shall be not less than 40 nor more than 60 days after the passage of said Resolution; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Paularino-Bear Annexation, a true and correct legal description of which is attached to this Resolu- tion marked Exhibit A, and by this specific reference made a part hereof, is to be annexed to the City of Costa Mesa and to become a part and portion of its corporate limits. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a public hearing, for the purpose of hearing written protests by owners of property within said annexed territory, shall be set for the 18th day of March, 1975, at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as practicable. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all hearings made reference to herein shall take place at the City Hall at 77 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, Cali- fornia. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution, when passed, be submitted to the Governing Board of each school district, which in part or whole is included in the territory thought to be included in the City, providing said school governing board has made a written request therefor. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be made a part of the permanent records of the City of Costa Mesa. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of February, 1975. I .C -Q City Clerk and ex -officio Clerk of City Council of the City of Costa sa I PAULARINO - BEAR ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF COSTA MESA Beginning at an angle point in the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa as created by the "Paularino No. 3 Annexation' to the City of Costa Mesa, Ordinance No. 325, said angle point being the northwest corner of said "Paularino No. 3 Annexation"; thence along the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa as created by the "Paularino No. 3 Annexation", the "Paularino No. 5 Annexation', the Paularino No. 8 Annexation", the 'Bristol No. 1 Annexation' and the "Sunflower Annexa- tion" through its various courses in a general southerly, westerly, northerly, easterly, northerly, and easterly direction to the northwest corner of Tract No. 3885, per map thereof recorded in Book 144, Pages 46 and 47 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California; thence departing from the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa and thence along the boundary of said Tract No. 3885, south 0°2925" west a distance of 200.00 feet to a point on the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa and the Paint of Beginning.
