HomeMy WebLinkAbout75-44 - Invitation to California Highway Commission to meet in Costa MesaRESOLUTION NO. 75-44 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, INVITING THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY COMMISSION TO MEET IN THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, STATING REASONS THEREFOR, AND INDICATING FACILITIES TO BE PROVIDED. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: THAT, WHEREAS, the State Highway Commission has followed the practice of meeting away from Sacramento on alternate months; and WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa at its City Hall at 77 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, California, has suitable facilities for a meeting of the California Highway Commission; and WHEREAS, many freeways exist in the Costa Mesa area which are under study and under construction, being the Newport Freeway, Corona del Mar Freeway, and Orange Freeway; and WHEREAS, a meeting of the Commission in the Orange County Harbor Area at the City of Costa Mesa will afford informative site visits of said freeways for the members of the Commission and their staff; and WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa and the California Highway Com- mission have enjoyed a cooperative and understanding working relationship for the past many years; and WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa desires to continue said good relationship by hosting the California Highway Commission for its January or March, 1976, meeting in its City Council Chambers; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa invites the California Highway Commission to conduct its January or March, 1976, meeting in the Council Chambers of the Civic Center at 77 Fair Drive; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Costa Mesa offers the full service and cooperation of all the departments of the City government for the benefit and convenience of the California Highway Commission, should this invitation be accepted; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution, duly passed by the City Council at a regular Council meeting, be hand delivered to the Highway Commission office in CALTRANS by Mayor Pro Tem Jack Hammett, or his representative.
